Extreme anxiety and fear over pandemic

I’ve never been properly diagnosed but I have dealt with bad panic attacks for over 5 years now. I don’t get them like I used to but still deal with anxiety.

This pandemic has me wrapped up in my fears, not being able to control anything, feeling more claustrophobic as the days go by being stuck at home/having a curfew. I worry about my family too who live 6 hours from me.

I did leave home last night for some sense of normality maybe (idk what I was thinking) to stay with some friends at their place and now I threw myself into panic attacks today because of close contact I had with someone. I don’t know if they’ve been quarantining, if the sheets I slept on were clean, if I touched something...who knows. I’m terrified and full of regret.

Every possible worst case scenario constantly runs through my head and I don’t know how to stop it. I can’t even turn on the news anymore.

How do I control this constant fear and uncertainty of what is going to happen ? Please help or tell me I’m not alone.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy Alliekaatt. You realize now that it wasn't

a wise thing to do. However, it's done and you can't take it back. Stay in your house

and isolate for the next 14 days. I hope that you will be okay.. We all have made

decisions that weren't the best at the time. I wish you well. Keep us updated. :) xx

What's done is done. You know the rules. Try and stick to them moving forward. It's not worth the risk.

Shut the tv off.

Stay well and stay safe.

I hear you. I have anxiety over this whole thing. It's almost 3 am and I can't sleep. I have dreams and repetitive thoughts and separation anxiety. It sucks. Hang in there. You are definitely not alone. Not by a long shot. I've seen so many who are saying the exact same thing. You just get through however you can, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. I try and look for the good that is coming out of this situation. The kindness that people are showing one another. There are some amazing stories. MSN has a part of their website under "news" that is just "good news" try checking that out. It lists all the great things people are doing for one another. I'm going to go back to sleep. Smiles and stay safe!
