I’m so scared right now

I think I have the virus I’ve not got a cough but I have a sore throat I try to breathe in and it doesn’t feel like I can take enough in to hold my breath if that makes sense like I’ll breathe in and it’s not deep enough to be holding it all in and it feels like my ribs are full of concrete like there is a lot of pressure? I’m very very scared my father just died as well so I’m just massively scared stressed alone and just in a real state where my mind doesn’t work

Dearest Meyer, I am so very sorry to hear about your father. My sincerest sympathy.

We have to be careful not to mix our anxiety issues with the virus or common cold.

You are under a lot of stress right now with the passing of your father. You haven't

had time to grieve and were now hit by these symptoms of a sore throat. Feeling

like your ribs are full of pressure can be coming from your intense fear/anxiety and

not a virus. Many anxious people get that feeling of not being able to take in a full

breath due to the muscles in the chest wall and diaphragm are increasingly tense.

(which have nothing to do with the lungs)

Only your doctor would be able to address your concerns. Give him a call.

Let us know how you are doing after that. Wishing you well. :) xx

It’s important to recognize the impact stress, grief, and anxiety have on our bodies. I’ve been to the doctor for tests convinced that I was dying... and it was my anxiety. 😅 (That was just my experience. I’m not a doctor. I’m just saying, the mind is powerful.)

I’d recommend: giving yourself a good night’s sleep, plenty of nutritious food, try some meditation - deep calming breaths, check your temperature regularly, speak kind thankful thoughts to yourself, and review how you feel over the next day(s).

Is it a dry cough?

Do you have a fever?

Have you come into contact with anyone with the virus?

A random cough here or there is a random cough. Some hospitals are offering telehealth visits to talk to a doctor online... idk where you live or if that’s possible, but a doctor could be able to help calm your fears.

Im sorry. I don’t have all the answers and I can’t speak directly with 100% confident to your situation and life.

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Wish you the best

I hope you experience a sense of peace and love in these trying times

The main symptoms we are told are a high fever and a dry continuous cough. I think your symptoms are much more likely to be your health anxiety. As a young physically fit person why don't you offer to help out much older relatives or neighbours? It would do some good and keep you too busy to panic so much.

Call you local cdc right away get tested. Please don’t wait, even call you dr. Right away❤️

Please accept my condolences for the death of your father. That in itself, would bring about massive anxiety, couple that with the current state of affairs re coronavirus outbreak and you have a recipe for 'extreme' anxiety. What you described sounds a lot like panic attacks to me, I went to my GP some years ago and told him there was something wrong with my lungs as I couldn't breathe, he gave me diazepam for panic attacks and lo and behold, I could breathe again. If they won't prescribe you diazepam, try getting hold of a paper bag and repeatedly breathing in and out of it to stop hyperventilation. I'm not a GP but I would suggest searching out information on panic attacks and you will know if the symptoms fit.
