Hey :)

What can you do to relieve your anxiety?

Can you get up from your desk for a bit - go somewhere quiet, have a little walk, get a drink, perhaps pop outside for some fresh air?

I’m here for you if you want to chat but I think you need to focus on what’s going to help you to calm down first.

Scared to leave desk. I just want to go home.

Ok, if leaving your desk isn’t an option for you, can you focus on something?Take some deep breaths or quietly look at something on your phone which you enjoy?

It doesn’t sound like you can do home yet - how many more hours of work do you have?

15 mins. I am suffering with severe depression too.

15 minutes isn’t long! You can make it. It probably feels like an eternity but you are so nearly there. You’re probably only 10 minutes away from being able to start to pack up.

Forget about work, focus on you and your breathing and what you are going to do when you get finish to help make you feel less anxious.

That’s what I’m doing. Forgetting about work.

Forcing myself to go to work. My mood feels flatlined. I’m scared.

Also, these things generally peak in 10 minutes, but sometimes they can last longer, so don't think about the amount of time that has passed. Some bodies take longer to wind down and recover. This thing won't hurt you, and you cannot die from it. You won't go crazy, either. It just really, really, really sucks.

Thank you.

Get some fresh air if you can. Take deep breaths. Inhale 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds. It'll pass--it's just a bad feeling. Let it happen and don't try to fight it.

Has this ever happened to you before?

Dolphin80 in reply to Icewall42

Yes often. I suffer with depression/ anxiety.

Hang in there Dolphin 80!!! I had to leave work today bc my depression and anxiety got so bad. I had to go to my Moms and cry a lot & rest. And I had to take my emergency medicine (Xanax). It has helped me feel more like myself. I think I’ll be well enough to go to the book fair tonight w my son.

Just keep swimming dolphin. There is nothing “wrong” w you (or me).

Bright place is that you did manage to make yourself go to work. I haven't been able to make myself go to work in going on 2 weeks. It's the longest I've been out since my pnuemonia episode back in 2014. Praying you feel better soon.

Hope today is a better day for you Dolphin80🌻

Just remember it only a minute feeling...it will come and it will

Pass....

Breath ... real belly breathing from deep inside gut not shallow chest breathing it breeds anxiety.

Calm Urself

Then put ur ipod on listen to ur favourite music and get lost in it.

I used to really suffer .. panic attacks.. anxiety and i read a book called “ feel the fear and do it anyway” it teaches us that fear is just a moments feeling, that nothing ever as bad as u thought or built it up to b.

Then let urself feel that fear but then make urself do it anyway.. ie i always had a fear of heights so i did a bungee jump.. the fear before doin it was worse then doin it .. i never had that fear since.

Sometimes our thoughts are our worst enemy.

U need to take urself out of that moment
