I’m m curious. How long did it take to feel the full effect of the increased dose of Venlafaxine ER? I had my dose increased from 150mg to 225mg about 10 days ago. I have felt a little bit of a dip in my mood and ability to process Traumatic feelings. I am working with my therapist as I go through some past traumas. We decided that possibly I needed to either change or increase the dose of my medication so that I could process without being in crisis mode. I have had some nightmares (which I normally don’t have), increased anxiety in the evenings, and a bit more depression in these first couple days. I have also uncovered some repressed memories so some of this can be from processing that too .

I’ve noticed that my skin feels like it’s on fire at times. Its like a mild sunburn. I don’t know if this is because of the change of dose And if it will taper off as the side effects take affect. I don’t know if I need to wait for to six weeks or if I should feel more steady sooner. I realize there is a waiting period for the full effect to take up, But was not expecting my symptoms to get worse first.

Hello, I do not think all your symptoms are from the increase in med's. I think you are tackling a big job, digging up old repressed memory's and feelings. Your body is responding to what has been stored in your body for a long time. The brain is one magnificent organ, it runs our whole body, it stores memory's, when you think of nice events from the past, I bet you feel warm and relaxed. Bringing up trauma is to bring up the feelings that went with it. I am proud of you, stick with it, and it you need a break, tell your therapist and take a few days off. I know the first year of my intense therapy was very painful, but it served me well, set me on a better road.

If you want to read a great book, try Dr. Scott Peck's book "The road Less Traveled" when I read it 30 years ago it helped me so much, Amazon has it new/used.....back then it was in the top 10 best sellers for 7 years......I send you strength, courage, peace, love and hugs......Sprinkle 1.....
