Wolves at the door

Im feeling extremely anxious today. The wolves keep clawing on my door. The electric company just called me again threatening to disconnect my service. I recently downsized last April to an apartment after selling my mom's house that was facing foreclosure. She was in a near fatal car accident 2 years ago and has recovered but needs 24hr supervision ordered by her doctor. I became her caretaker which I gladly took on but her financial situation is bleak. When we sold her house she owed about 1200 to the electric company. Fast forward 1year, the bill is almost $3,600 and they forwarded her debt to my apartment's electric account. So now my name is on the bill and there is no hope in sight. Were late on rent too, luckily the landlord is being lenient. I don't know what to do! Im shook with the thought of a shut down any minute. If that does happen they need the payment in full for reactivation. They keep asking for about 900 bucks to keep service. We don't have that. What can I do to help my 72yr old mom and myself? Lawyers are expensive but zi feel desperate and like this is unfair. She is thinking of declaring bankruptcy, but really I would have to orchestrate everything for her. Her mental state isn't 100%. Mine seems to be in a hopeless depression with anxiety.

Hi isn't there any charities that can help you out ? If there isn't you need to work out a plan with your electricity supplier tell them your available money and together come up with a payment plan?

Also you need to have some me time you are doing such a good job looking after your Mum but take a couple of hours a day to do what makes you happy , you matter and taking care of yourself is imprtant for you and your Mum

I will .. Ive been googling for answers but she makes more income than some programs accept. However her debt swallows up her income monthly so it is a bad situation.
