A short description of my withdrawal from Ropinirole. It's really rather like a roller coaster ride . One minute you're up and the next you're plunging to the depths. There's a whole lot of shaken goin on as insides come out. Mercy mercy me. this is not I. Pam

THE HOUNDS OF HELL HAVE BEEN LOOSED UPON ME
I am so sorry to hear this. Hang in there, Pam. You're not alone. It makes my coaster ride seem like a lasagna noodle.
Pam
I know the feeling all too well. Hang in there. It seems like it never will end but it does.
You know we are all here for you.
Hi Pam,
Withdrawing from certain drugs isn’t easy. A couple years ago I had to stop taking Buspar. The withdrawal was quite anxiety provoking. But eventually it tapered.
I’m hoping that’s the same for you... that it tapers and peace is restored to you.
Best,
-MZ ❤️

So sorry about that. I just read up on ropinirole withdrawal - sounds awful. It’s called “DAWS”, or Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal Symptoms. Your brain and body will definitely have unpleasant reactions to having the dopamine agonist taken away. If you’re tapering off quickly, I would really consider slowing down the taper. You can Google “DAWS” to learn more about it.
I had an awful experience myself with a different kind of drug, Effexor, an SNRI. It always wore off about 2 hours before it was supposed to, leaving me in hell for 2 hours every night. Then when I got off it, there were several weeks of hell, so I very much understand, even if the effects were different. You need to get back to a balance. It takes time.
Thank you for the kind reply I do know about DAWS but in the midst of this hellish experience my brain is refusing to work. If increasing the opioid I'm on doesn't work then I will have to slow down the withdrawal. My Doctor is very tolerant of my wishes so I know he will back me in whatever I choose to do. Unfortunately I got caught in a weekend when he wasn't available. This is my first and I pray, my last experience with tapering off.
