Thanks for the happy wishes Pitalife. I think that there is probably an influx into mental health units around the holidays. It is stressful and it is easy to lose the meaning of family and what is really important in the commercialization. There is nothing wrong with curling up with good books in my opinion. Are you going to therapy? I love therapy. There is nothing wrong with needing to go to the ER either. I hope that you can enjoy life all of them time and not feel pressure to do stuff at the holidays. I wish you peace, hope, and strength.

awww big hug Pitalife. You’re so not a kill joy. Thanks for being honest with your feelings and brave to share it. I’ve always enjoyed holidays but since anxiety disorder it has a lot of anxiety evoking qualities and that part messes with me. Maybe take it easy on yourself just go with your feelings. Stop for a bit don’t focus it’s the holidays or that time. If you don’t want to attend certain functions don’t but do something nice for yourself instead so you’re not sitting around thinking. Hope that makes sense. Prayers up. 🙏🏻

Funny I want one,but it's hot in south florida, that's great idea, wish we could sleep nbrest n not worry through the winter...it do some good to society too I think..no one can do no harm while hibernation in effect. ..happy safe holidays to you n loved ones.

The holiday season is a stressful and depressing time for many people. A lot of this stems from what they think others expect of them, and what they are obligated to do. However, they don’t usually really have these obligations, and they don’t need to put pressure on themselves.

Imagine that a friend of yours comes to you and describes all the problems you have described here. How would you respond to that friend in a supportive way? Then, take all those answers and say them to yourself.

Also, if you are stressed out by crowds and frantic, buying and last minute, shopping, and so forth (as many people are), consider going on line and buying some things from Amazon or Target. It can make your life a lot easier. Times have changed.

I also hate Christmas. All the anticipation and then the let down afterward. All the work decorating and baking. In a few hours it's all over but the crying. Literally. We don't have any little ones to spoil. I just think of what could have been if my grandsons had lived. I worry about my daughter and her husband, the pain they carry every Christmas. I would rather shut off the lights and hibernate until it's over.

My feelings exactly, over commercialized n prices of food are way out of control n everything made in China, people go into avoidable debt buying junk...it used to be nicer, but my views have drastically changed about holidays in America..
