There are several members on site that like posting music videos for all to enjoy. We believe it is a distraction from our many conditions and lifts up our moods. This is not an exclusive group but no one has to partake if they're not inclined to. We are not promoting anything only looking for companionable communication . Our administrators have taken this innocent pleasure away from us without explanation. I am hoping you might reconsider this and I ask you to remember the tradition in Britain of Poets like William Blake who wrote ( Music hath charms to sooth the savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.). In harmony , Pam

MUSIC YEA OR NAY? THAT IS THE QUESTION FOR THE HU ADMINISTRATORS
Hear, hear! Thank you for making this thread!
I hasten to add, though, that this is a technical problem that the HealthUnlocked tech team refuses to fix, or even, seemingly address. As far as I am aware, this hasn't been done on purpose; they just refuse to take responsibility and fix it for some reason.
I have been in contact with HealthUnlocked Support since late September of last year about this issue, and have sent them upwards of twenty emails in that time. In the last email I received from them in January, they made it clear that the tech team was aware of the problem and the extent of it, but were insisting that this was a browser issue on the user's end. I subsequently sent them an email, with evidence proving that it was not a browser-related issue, nor was it the fault of the user. I'm not a tech savvy person, so I don't know what they have to do to fix it, but I do know that it's something HealthUnlocked has to do on their end -- maybe something to do with the software used to create the site or with the server that hosts the forums. I don't know, but my suspicion is that there is some sort incompatibility between YouTube and HealthUnlocked; whatever the case, it's something within HealthUnlocked's power and purview to fix if the tech team would just do their darn jobs.
I urge anyone reading this who would like all YouTube video embeds to play on HealthUnlocked without redirection to contact HealthUnlocked Support at support@healthunlocked.com to let them know. Maybe if enough voices are heard, they'll actually do something about it, or, at the very least, make an announcement to let the HealthUnlocked community know that they are working on the problem.
I appreciate everything you have done so far. I believe if they wanted it done it would get done. It's simple really. All they have to do is wait for us to go away. I'm pretty cynical I suppose. Do youthink we could bring in Harry and Megan as an example of a life lived without music ?You see what happens !
Oh, I'm happy to work with them to troubleshoot this thing -- if only they would get back to me. But, cynical or not, I think you're right -- I think they're hoping that we'll just accept it as a broken feature, so they don't have to deal with it.
Well, at least Harry and Meghan now reside in a country with a great musical heritage (Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Band, Rush, Arcade Fire, The Weakerthans, etc.) -- and they're young, plenty of time absorb it all.
๐....go Pam .....my hero ..donโt hold back
Thank you ~ thank you ~ thank you ! I know how much I'm missing the music...it helps my spirits 100%.....
We Want Our Music BACK!
Sparkles & dump trucks Pam!
Sing it Sister
Pam:
Thanks for posting that. Music is a great form of therapy. I also agree it brings the community together in a different way. It is a distraction from our day to day lives. Seeing conversations go in directions we see different sides of each other. It's just fun. I needed that yesterday.
Mr Monk has done a lot of work. I'm not buying it that no one can fix it. It's just passing the buck around waiting for it to go away.
In support of all my friends here on the site who get so much out of the music threads, I BEG OF YOU, HU, to make it work.
I'm one of the people who can pull up the songs and videos but my ability to post is zilch. That really bums me out because I want to play with the other kids. And I should be able to.
Make it work. It will go a long way towards improving our mental health. And we sure could all use that. Lynne
I don't really want any music, poetry or anything which feeds to individual tastes and preferences.. pity there isn't a separate forum entirely for 'inspirational' non-specific diversions
I seek medical information, stories of fellow sufferers who share their fears, anxiety and experiences, to learn and respond; help in any way I can .. a meeting of minds for mutual benefit
There are so many other sites right across the internet to go to if you're looking for distraction

I am sure you don't respond to every post on site. I assume you pass on those that have no interest for you. Just pass us by, our existence takes nothing away from you.
OUCH....HARSH.... uncalled for..... why would you resort to sarcasm to attack me personal - my remarks were not directed at any particular individual, rather an Interest Group
you do NOTHING to recognise my extremely low self-esteem and AS and much to hurt..
of course I can't answer every post on the site, but I do read and respond to those where I can hopefully understand and sympathise
shame on you..... ๐ฐ
You misunderstand, I wasn't criticizing, merely stating that not every post has to be responded to. If that seems harsh to you then don't engage me in conversation. It's very simple really.
You're sounding a little selfish there's no 'I' in here, we all have our own issues here and some of us do love a tiny bit of escaping. You can pass a post you don't want to deal with, just scroll it is not that complicated. Have a nice day and happy Valentine's
I am with you all the way Pam. I used to do a weekly musical post on another site but had to stop it when suddenly most of the videos wouldn't play. I assumed it was to do with YouTube rather than a technical glitch on HU, but obviously not.
I don't think HU object to off topic posts, but rather that each individual site has their own preferences and the admins are just told what's acceptable by the site owners. Our admins have said off topic posts should be limited, but after all the site is free to us at the point of use and I am still grateful for this.
If HU do fix the issue there is nothing to stop us posting music on a different mental health site here if the admins there are agreeable is there? x
Good message, Pam! I LOVE music. I also like all the comradery that goes on among those who share it most often, As most of them are personal friends of mine, I was dismayed when this simple joy was stolen away from them.
Here's hoping that common sense will abound and this simple joy of life will be returned!
I have high hopes
High hopes, I have high apple pie in the sky hopes la la. Music has already started ๐๐๐โจ xx
Excellent work by Lead DJ Guy. You just rocked it coordinating sweetiepie
statement with a song. Very impressive ๐ผ๐ผ๐ผ
well I thought the timing was good .....think even mr monk would of missed this opportunity
When we get the ok to move on this you and Mr Monk may be competing for the title.
You may have to apply for the job. Just sayin....
Iโm more of a freestyle guy just flip what comes along on my playlist....mr monk would blow me out of the water his knowledge of music is far greater....think my confidence is growing with the poems though after todayโs feedback.
Well, Mr Monk does poems too so. This could get ugly.
No definitely not heโs my Jedi master ....more to the point getting back on track ....think h.u should do a special section maybe for people who donโt like music or poetry on here people who just want proper depression stuff.
Not sure I feel comfortable commenting on what goes where. I will have to check with my lawyer on that.I will end it with BRING BACK THE MUSIC.
Enjoy your valentine's day๐
I hope they allow music again or at least explain why it's not allowed. ADMIN please keep in mind there's the ability to scroll on this site. I'm not saying that to cause problems. I just happen to love music and enjoy being exposed to new music from various genres.
I AGREE!!! ๐ถ bring it back ๐ญ ALAN IS RUNNING IN CIRCLES TRYING TO GIVE US MUSIC! Give him a damn break will ya!!!!!?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love my music and I want to be able to share it with others!
That is key isn't it, sharing the music. It allows your message to become stronger, to last longer, making it more effective.
