Does anyone else have the physical effects of anxiety and stress? Last week, everyday, it was one crisis after another in my family and by Friday I was just crying all the time. Things are more settled, but this morning I woke up feeling completely exhausted. All day, my legs have been like jelly, my throat feels a bit thick (if that makes sense) and I have muscular pain in my upper body.
Rationally, I’ve felt like this before over the past ten years and no doctor can tell me what it is. All these symptoms plus a daily headache. It started 9 years ago after a traumatic time.
I had flu in December and was ill for 5 weeks. I’m absolutely terrified I’m getting it again and that’s why I’m in a state right now. I can’t cope with being that ill again. I’m can’t get a grip, I’m literally convinced I’m really ill.
Just wondered if anyone else has these feelings after a period of high stress and anxiety. I’m well aware that the body can react in all sorts of ways to anxiety. Like does anyone else have these pains and feeling generally poorly when they’ve had a rough time? Xx

yes I think this is pretty common. stress and anxiety take a lot of energy and time to recover. its sometime hard to see as its going on but it catches up with you later.
I can and it is horrible, no words of wisdom I am afraid just wanted to let you know you are not alone.. I have a virus infection at the moment and feel awful and have to keep on reminding myself that this too will pass and it is just the physical illness making the world seem so bleak.. wishing you better soon hope things calm down a bit for you xx
Yes stress and anxiety will play havoc with the body, finding out any weak spots and zeroing in on them. After having the flu so badly, you will have a lot of places that are weak. Every year I get a flu shot, and it keeps it at bay, have you tried doing that? Be kind to yourself, find time to be by yourself some where, quiet and warm, do some relaxing exercises to undo the knots in the muscles and release tension from the soft tissues. If you can meditate for 10 or more mins. it is a great stress reducer, if you can go for a walk in nature and do Not think about your problems, enjoy the birds, anything in bloom, the fresh air, sunlight, the sense of being out in nature, hum or sing a song. After that you will be more prepared to deal with the problems that arise. I wish you well, I send you comfort, peace, strength love and big hugs......Sprinkle 1.....
Thank you ♥️♥️. I will definitely try all those things. I have never had the flu shot, but I am seriously considering it for this year! It’s amazing the toll it has taken on me.....x
