Does anyone else get heightened anxiety around the time they get their period? I’ve noticed the past few months my anxiety is heightened around the time I get my period and I’m not sure why? Anyone experience this and how do they cope with it?

lovetodance2018 just posted about PMDD ... could very well be the start of it. I was hit with severe PMDD while I was still in the throes of postpartum depression. PMDD is PMS times a million. It stands for premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Talk to your gynecologist as soon as possible.

I did talk to my gynecologist this past week and she basically didn’t seem that concerned and told me to take some Xanax a few days before since I have it, but I don’t like to use it just in case since I don’t have that many and save them for when I need them.
I’m sorry that she pretty much dismissed it. I’m going to assume that she never brought up PMDD.
If your symptoms worsen you may want to speak to your PCP and consider finding a gyn who recognizes PMDD and doesn’t dismiss it.
I’m forever trying to find remedies. I loathe PMS week. It’s a whirlwind of emotions and my hormones are on a roller coaster and all of that affects me physically in some zany ways.
I literally should be a spokesperson for Chamomile tea ...I swear by it. It helps relax you, the cramps & your mood. I also love peppermint tea (cramps), I use my Himalayan Salt lamp to help relax me . I have lavender infused pillows (put some lavender in the pillows) the smell relaxes me. I swear by Yoga daily. On days where your energy is depleted (LISTEN to your body) , relax . There’s days where you’re more antsy than normal (I honestly can’t tell the difference sometimes haha) I relax & put on smooth jazz haha.
Soooo...lavender, chamomile, peppermint...add ginger root & lemon in my water . Yoga...naps ... and soothing music. Also, back massages ...whenever you can ..that is essential to move all that tension out. I try to NOT given in , to any sugary or salty cravings often , too.
