Hello, I find it hard to get up in the morning and get my day started. I've isolated myself from everyone. Its hard for me to leave my house sometimes bedroom. I haven't left the house in 2 months. One exception being therapy I started two days ago.

I've been there too. That feeling is partially why we have animals. So I HAVE to get up and moving, I have to leave the bed. They need to be fed, let outside, etc. It totally sucks. Each morning I start with 5 minutes of grounding - whether it be stretching, meditation, writing 5 positive things about myself in a journal, etc. It was hard to get going at first but now its easier for me. That's really helped me to try and break the depression cycle.

Hello, breakfastattiffanys,

I am sorry to hear how hard things have been for you lately. I hope you are starting to feel better as you are going to therapy. There is a couple of things that help me to overcome fear when I feel uncertain about a problem that I might be going through. 1). I pray - talk to God and ask Him to help me overcome that fear. 2). There is a verse that is very helpful that I remind myself about; Phillippians 4:13 "I can do all things through that gives me strength." Then, I know I HAVE to take that first step by faith know that Jesus is going to be with me every step of the way. Hang in there, you've got this!

Been where you are at now. Yes it was very very very hard for me to leave my house or even my bedroom for a very very very long time. I would stop taking care of my self care and would only travel out when I was almost starving to go grocery shopping. Then I would order out or order grocery deliveries. It was bad.

You are making the first step out or your isolation. You are seeking help from therapist and ideas from this community. You will find you will also need to go further and find management skills and coping skill to help change your mental processes. You can consult your therapist about treatment in this area such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialect Behavioral Therapy (DBT). If you want to learn more about there methods you can look them up. I am currently using them to keep from doing what you described in your post as I did exact what you did . I'm not 100% but with all things work and commitment to change takes effort. It's like working out you need to make it a part of your life style. I thought it was nothing but a bunch of <<Bleep Bleep>> but it turned out to be a genuine life saver. If you have any questions feel free to private message me.

I think it will. Also some of your physical symptoms may also require medication but that's ok. It will help you during the course of your CBT and DBT learning. There is so much in there that will help clear your mind and spirit which in turn helps your physical body. Not something my younger college self would ever have said. Now on the other hand I would swear by it.
