Thank you for sharing your experience hlangdon.

That was a good idea to just purchase a 12lb one.

My psychiatrist had me try a very heavy weighted one

in his office and I couldn't handle it. It's important we

use what works for us best. Enjoy that peace and calm :) xx

I often think about buying one. There are quite a few, Its knowing which one is best. They are quite expensive and don't want to waste my money if it doesn't help.

Benmaise, I have been looking at prices in different stores online. I was told to try it a few days and if I didn't like it to return it. I had gone into Target by me and it was $49 for the 12lb. They can cost over $100 which I was not going to pay for a blanket. I was told to try it out and if I didn't like it to return it. I bought it and saved my receipt to make sure after a couple of days since I bought it today. My sleep has been off the last few nights due to my anxiety and the sleeping pill takes longer now to kick in

May I ask how much do you weigh? Because I bought one based on my weight 20lbs it says. I couldn’t move my legs at all. Took it back. Glad it helped you. I’m going to try a lighter weight one.

i'm over 200lbs and know i should be using over a 20lb weighted blanket. I may get a heavier one at some point but not sure yet.

Ok, I’m 185lbs, I tried a 20lb one, maybe I’ll get a lighter one? Thanks

I purchased my 20 lb blanket a few weeks ago and I’m glad I did. I weigh 130lbs and the 20lb works well for me. I am single and the weight of the blanket gives me comfort

Love weighted blankets! I go lt to borrow my daughter-in-law’s! I do get a bit hot in the middle of the night, but worth it.

Hi,

I have used one by chance on holiday and had the best nights sleep in ages. Reminded me of when I was little and we just had heavy blankets.

What is it about the heavy blankets, do they just make you feel more secure?

I got a 15 pound one for Xmas. I find it difficult to turn in the bed. I'm a very restless sleeper. This has settled down because I can't move very well lol

I also have a weighted blanket. It works great and helps me with my night terrors.

I received a 15 lb one for Christmas and I LOVE it! I’m the type of person that has to have weight on me to sleep (lots of layers) no matter the season. It took me a few nights to get used to it but boy do I sleep well now. At first it made me too hot and I had to lessen the blanket load I usually have, but once I found the balance it was great! For me, it is a comfort thing; not physical comfort exactly...more of a secure comfort if that makes sense. My adult daughter has a 20 lb one and it’s so stinking heavy. My other adult daughter bought a lightweight one at Target in the children’s section (Fort). It’s perfect for her especially for napping.

I noticed that if I turn down the heat even by one degree, it helps me be more comfortable with the weighted blanket. I get less hot.

I love mine. Been using it for 2yrs. In the beginning I took it in the car for long trips to stay calm.
