What are somethings you guys do to overcome anxiety for the current moment ? What do you guys eat . It’s kind of hard for me to eat as healthy as I want . I always end up still being hungry . My anxiety has gotten a little better the more I get out . It acts up during rain and ugly days though.

Read the Bible; sing hymns & songs.

Difficult when not in a private place, though. Try to take my thoughts 'captive' and calm my mind, maybe say a silent prayer .

God Bless ♡

I admit to stress eating when my anxiety goes up! I try to tend to grab a chocolate bar or anything sweets to drink like Milk Shakes.

Yeah if you try to eat healthy it's not enough. You will still feel the hunger.

I do a lot of things when anxiety attacks. Talk to people about it. Vent out my anxiety. Watch a movie. Read a novel. Listen to cool rock music. Eat peanuts or popcorn which is better than chocolate bars. :)

1. my gf eats chocolates when she is anxious (she has no clinical syndrome as such, just when she's nervous). I think it is a terribly bad habit - yeah, carbohydrates and cocoa taste good, but if you make it a habit, you will end up as mom of Honey-BooBoo. Eating to fight anxiety is not a good move.

2. I would probably take a cold shower and go for a walk or go to gym.

Doing things that are very healthy and safe, yet demand some unpleasantness (like cold shower) is a very good "switch" for the mind to stop being depressed and rather think about current moment.

hmm I just thought - some people self-hurt when they have psychotic episodes. Because pain makes the mental state go away and focus on current moment. Could it be that something as simple as cold shower would have same effect? It is shocking for body, it is "painful" but it is supersafe.

3. writing something usually helps with anxiety. Writing down why and what to do about it is a good thing.

4. Reading also helps (like some humorous literature) though it is more suitable for evenings, rahter than if you have anxiety midday

We eat a great deal of fruit and vegetables, also we have Oats in the morning with various fruits to give it taste and sweetness.

It is all down to our own needs and expectations. I have a library of books about places I have been to over the years etc, they help me divert my thoughts to happier times.

We also have a large garden, Orchard of over thirty trees, that helps me focus on their care.

Consider diversions or hobbies you enjoy, that can be a great help to shift a negative mood

Stilton cheese ! It cures everything.

Standing in the fresh air...rain or shine...listening to the birds singing for at least 3 minutes.
