You need to try and relax. Try Mindfulness A relaxation Technique, books available for about $10. Hopefully it will help you learn to relax

Breathing Techniques may also help to keep you calm, you will find explanations on the Web

You mention stage fright, I used to attend meetings and sometime had to stand up and discuss a report or similar, You do get used to it and the best way when standing imagine everyone in the room has no clothes on, this brings people to a lower level and will help you perform in a better way

I also qualified as an Instructor/ Community / Youth Leader so I had to take groups, all you do there is remember you are the expert, people are listening to you so it is you who learns to explain what needs to be done.

Always remember when talking to a group you are imparting knowledge you are in country. Always have a paper with a list of what you need to talk about

Actually, I would like to congratulate you for taking the step towards seeking therapy. It’s scary for most yet shows courage on your part.

Remember, you’re not alone. I myself could probably write the book of my own anxieties worries, OCD’s... you name it.

Yet I’ve been in therapy for years and it helps me quite a bit.

Good luck and I’m sure your new therapy will express compassion during your session(s).

Best,

-MZ

Thank you for reaching out here. It is great you made that therapy appointment. Talking our your anxiety with a professional is helpful. Sometimes our chemicals go off in our brain, it is our bodies way of reminding us to take it easy. We have to listen to our bodies and what they need. Try to do conscious breathing and take your focus off of the things that are stressing you. I journal my thoughts and also write down my prayers. I listen to praise music and that helps me take my mind off of my anxiety. I will be praying for you. God Bless and please keep in touch.
