An apology

bridder01 profile image
32 Replies

Hello all, Brian here. I wanted to say I'm sorry for anyone I hurt/offended earlier in some of my posts. It was uncalled for and goes against my core beliefs. I take full responsibility for what I wrote and I admit that some of the posts were written in the heat of the moment. I don't like to get angry or mad at others and I don't like showing that side of me. That's not who I am. To all who were hurt or felt disrespected by my earlier posts, I sincerely apologize for the sentiment behind them. Let us all agree to steer clear of certain hot button topics in future and try to help each other earnestly and genuinely.

Remember, respect other's boundaries and be kind, even if you disagree. (Yes, I know, I need to take that to heart lol)

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Brian :)

Brian, that's very good of you to say that, I think there was a bit of a misunderstanding which I didn't make clear, I only wished to fly the flag for religious toleration, otherwise we end up burning each other at the stake. I wasn't defending the esoteric viewpoints of others on that now deleted post though it may have looked as if I was.

So we are all friends again and move forward as one helping each other based on our own experiences with anxiety and depression and what we have learned along the way.

Just a footnote: witches were burned at the stake because of religious intollerance, but they were not all witches, if they were at all, if any really were it would have been very few. The church called the healers witches because they declared their faith would cure them now so herbal healing was no longer needed....also burned were women who spoke out too much, or a neighbor someone didn't like, or an escape goat for other villagers so they were not targeted...

in reply tofauxartist

I think the word witch originally meant educated woman or intelligent woman. Something along those lines. So I guess if you were a little too smart for a lady you got burned.

I am an herbalist....and had done extensive research on the history of herbal healing for a character in a book I have been writing, and I can tell you...even in the bible it says how herbs were for man and the grass for the cattle. Yet even still, the church one day made a decree to cull the herd of independent thinkers, unruly women, and the wisewomen and cunning men were no longer allowed to heal with herbs....women were targeted mainly. Eventually a how to manual was even distributed...Malleus Maleficarum.

in reply tofauxartist

We needs those herbs today more than ever...

Hopefully people will more now that drugs are so expensive. You can grow your own. You know many chemical derivatives come from herbs even today. Chemo from the yew tree. aspirin from the willow bark, valium from valerian which the herb is not addictive. The list is endless. Did you know that apple cider cures many fungal infections? Peppermint for gas, ginger root for nausea. Yogurt helps with yeast infections. Diet can change your diabetes, high blood pressure, and stress levels lowered when you cut out caffeine and high sugar intake. We are what we eat really.

in reply tofauxartist

Exactly...and the western diet is so poor. No wonder so many are sick. I learn a lot about herbs and stuff from the vice channel. They are so crucial and a lot of us dont even know, including myself. I remember hearing about a tree in the phillipines that was more effective than morphine and non addictive and look at the US going through an opioid crisis.

in reply to

My dad has diabetes and he basically eats the same foods and takes all these medications. He says he enjoys food too much to change. If he just tried to heal himself I know he wouldnt need delicious foods to feel better but he has already sealed his fate. It makes me sad.

in reply to

I've heard that the western diet is more dangerous than smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol and some other bad things combined

Amazing.., I can't wait to read about it, I'll have to look that up. Society turns a blind eye to what is right in front of them really. It's why we have to save the forests and jungles not yet destroyed, they are the worlds pharmacy of the future. Herbs are just weeds in the field, trees, roots, barks, and flowers....most grow wild in the fields. Even in the 'Ice Man's pouch, the guy they found frozen for over 5,ooo years had herbs with him.

in reply to

Kratom is the name of the herb

fauxartist in reply to

thank you very much,.....

I just read about this herb, and …Well....unfortunately some have already figured out a way to abuse this potential herb. Some people take it for managing chronic pain, for treating opioid withdrawal symptoms, but some are abusing it. What a shame. A potential use for opiod withdrawal that is a natural herbal....and not just another pharmaceutical.

It's the same story for medical marijuana....miss understood. Yet alcohol is sold everywhere and I think it's one of the most dangerous mind altering drugs on the market.

in reply tofauxartist

Of course 👍

in reply tofauxartist

I did see some people were boiling it down and mixing it with cough syrup and coca cola on the show. I guess there will just always be those people looking for a high but that's their choice. I think the point is we shouldn't be handing out dangerous addictive opioids out like candy and creating drug addicts out of people who were just looking for relief and not to get high.

fauxartist profile image
fauxartist in reply to

Your exactly right....for so long drug reps sold these addictive drugs as the next best thing to get rich on....they did the same with 'mothers little helpers'...Valium in the sixties and seventies. Now you have this sudden stop of doctors being able to prescribe pain killers at all to those with chronic pain, so...now you have a 10% increase in a year of people buying heroin. Those that would never have considered a street drug now turn to the streets because it's cheap and they get pain relief. Also those that are addicted to opioids turn to heroin because it's cheap. The largest dollar income commodity in the US are illegal drugs...somebody is getting rich....follow the money and you'd be surprised how many pockets are being lined tax free.

in reply tofauxartist

Then their kids sneak into mommy and daddies medicine cabinet and find oxycodone and before they know it their out buying heroin and lives are ruined. Smh...

All true, many were spiritual healers, they had the gift of connecting with healers in spirit and acted as the medium or conduit for the healing energy to pass through and so on to the person in need.

fauxartist profile image
fauxartist in reply toJeff1943

Many of faith were said to be healers....so is healing simply a spiritual connection then...as healers in the early and late middle ages were often people of faith...just unfortunates really and caught up in hypocracy.

Jeff1943 profile image
Jeff1943 in reply tofauxartist

I only know for sure of healers today who have their own spiritualist churches in the u.k. There are spirits in the after life who engage in healing people in this world, these healing spirits usually worked in some form of healthcare in this realm: doctors, nurses, medical research, even First Nation American medicine men pop up quite frequently. The greatest healer of our time was the late Harry Edwards and his two healing spirits were Louis Pasteur who invented the pasteurisation of milk process and saved thousands from TB and Joseph Lister who invented the first effective modern antiseptic, his name lives on in Listerine mouth wash.

But these healing spirits need a medium or conduit in this world to direct the healing energy through to the person who needs healing. So the healers in this realm are not really healers they are mediums, the healing energy does not originate in them, it passes through them. I believe my grandson was healed of asthma which was endangering his life by a healer called Remus Branch, I saw last week he died at a great age.

I'd better not go on about this but you did ask. It is of no interest to me if people are 'won over' to spiritual healing or not.

fauxartist profile image
fauxartist in reply toJeff1943

I think there is a misconception that spiritual means you have to be religious....that's not the case. And I do though believe that some people have a natural ability to be in tune with their patents, and if you are sick and have the will to heal, often that can be what gets you through some illness. If you don't, often people just give up on life and often don't make it.

I agree, big difference between religions that have been used by Prelates, Prime Ministers and Presidents to control populations and spirituality which is a personal choice.

Even I must admit when I go too far. I went too far. But this is something I feel very strongly about, because religion was forced on me from a very early age and seeing all the pain and agony that has been caused in this world all in the name of a religion. I realize that some people rely on their spiritual faith to keep them going, and I don't have a problem with that. What I have a problem with is when they sweep into a place with their normal "Holier than thou" attitude and proceed to force their view on everyone, especially when we never asked for it. I like to take a more philosophical view of life. Treat others with kindness and they will treat you in kind. Don't force your view on others. If they ask, then tell. Respect boundaries. Learn all you can in life and don't limit yourself to one narrow avenue.

Other than that, let's just enjoy each other's company :)

Your pal,

Brian :)
