Weaning off of Cymbalta after taking it for 10 years. It's such a struggle to not cry all the time. The doctor prescribe Xanax a quick relief for a while but then it to wears off. Anyone else dealing with something like this? Thank you all so much for being there all the time and helping one another it's such a blessing.

Weaning off cymbalta after taking for 10 yes. Yikes!!!
Was it working for you? Just be careful because sometimes after we go off meds, we don't realize how good we were doing on them! But congrats!! That's awesome!
No but wish you luck if weaning off take notes and go to the hospital and explain if anything weird happens. Bless your heart.
Thanks so much sweetie.
I've been on Xanax for over 10 yrs. for GAD. Yeah I know it's only supposed to be for short-term use but it works, still. Had a traumatic event couple years ago really sent my nerves into overdrive so I went on Cymbalta. It really helped. Took it about a year and then decided I didn't need it anymore and stopped cold. Had brain zaps and dizzy feelings but I'm retired living at home so not big deal. That went on about a week or so and went away. Not really any problems. If I had to quit Xanax that would be a BIG problem. Still have Cymbalta I take in small doses building up to the holiday season; also suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and since losing my wife past January, this entire year has really sucked. I'm thinking the month of January is going to be a washout as well it'll probably be about first of spring I'll back off of head meds. Hope to. If Karma shows up it's all a crap shoot.
