I was taking 2mg a day for about a month and then I read about all of the hard withdrawal stories. After another month and a half I am down to .5 mg a day and wanted to know if anyone has advice for how to handle this last .5. I actually am not doing bad but I do get worried about how my mind will react.

Weaning off Ativan and doing good so far.
If you are working with a doctor, you’ll probably be better off.
I am working with a psychiatrist and psychologist. I am taking it a bit slower than what the psychiatrist decided at first. I have to be able to work and function for my wife and son so going through a hard core cutoff or withdraw is not a option.
sevreed: 2 mg. of Ativan and you are worried about withdrawal? Don't worry about nothing. I have the same problem as you about Percodan. But people laugh at me when I say I am only taking 1 and a 1/4 maximum a day. That's because I know nothing about Percodan but a lot about benzos. 2mg a day is not that much. I have known people who have taken 10mg a day of Ativan. So please, relax and if you are down to .5 go of them as slow as you want, but I doubt you will notice much difference stopping. Good luck my friend, I am rooting for you...........robertcass
Thanks Robert!
sevreed: I wanted to give you an example of what I went through when I was in rehab a few years ago. The first day I was there they gave me 60mg of valium! The comparison with Ativan is 5mg of valium is the approximate equal of 1mg of Ativan. So that's 12mg of Ativan. By the end of 8 days I was off it. And this was in a hospital setting. I hope this helps.....robertcass
