I hated Wellbutrin. It made me crazy! I’m no doctor but I like giving advice on medication because I have tried all of them!! I FINALLY found two that I like: Zoloft and Abilify. My friend who also has major depression and anxiety added Abilify to her Zoloft and said it changed her life. Check out my latest post when you can because I’m doing SO much better. And I really think the meds had a lot to do with it. Best of luck! And Kenny is right. Post with the names because people will absolutely respond 💜
I’ve never heard a good thing about Wellbutrin. I felt psychotic on it. I was angry all the time. Ugh!! And omg I love Abilify! I’m so happy you do too!! Prozac, Zoloft and Lexapro seem to be the best antidepressants. I always hear good things.
As you know meds affect people differently. But if a number of people are saying about the same thing you might be affected similarly as well. I would not urge you to discontinue meds without professional advice. If you've been taking it and had no negative experience, perhaps continue but keep an eye on how your body reacts. Especially your mind. Sorry to scare you, I'll be more careful of my phrasing. You do what's best for you. Take care and I hope the best for you.
Wellbutrin almost made me commit suicide. It gave me anxiety BIG time, luckily I had Xanax. Threw that in the garbage. Now if only I can get the depression under control.
Omg read my comment above! I hated it so much! I substituted Xanax for Clonopin. I take it at night if I have anxiety (pretty much every night haha) But it’s a lifesaver for sure!
Definitely consult with your doctor. Don’t just stop it. You might have withdrawal. He or she can taper you off or substitute it. But it made me feel very aggravated and short tempered. I’d get mad at stupid stuff and flip out! My husband and mom noticed immediately. I think I was on it for a month and the anger in me was extremely noticeable. Just be careful. Are you feeling any weird side effects?
I used to take Wellbutrin and it worked well for a few years. During an episode of severe depression and work anxiety, my doctor put me on lexapro. I have been on that for 3 years and it is starting to lose its effectiveness. I guess I am what is referred as antidepressant resistant. I have tried most of the medications.
Antidepressants are said to be at best 35% effective in the treatment of depression (according to my doctor) and I believe it. There is a book that I have that says medication is okay, but it can be enhanced by other changes in your life. Eating well, exercise, and spirituality of your choosing makes a difference. Avoid caffeine and sugar as it makes depression worse. I will add to that to stay away from negative people and try not to isolate. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to get moving but it is the last thing you may feel like doing. I have had to push myself to do stuff but once I did I felt better.
You might look to see if there are support groups in your area. They are free and have helped me.
unfortunately we dont have any supporting groups in my country. but now im trying to write a book about nutrition it is something good to make my mind busy.
i like ready book im ready right now ( snow flower and the secret fan) for lisa see.
but i cant do exercise because my leg is broken.
anyway i will try to go in your advises but i dont promise you with coffee , im a coffee addicted.
Sister, I hear you about caffeine. I drink coffee and Monster drinks. Then I can't sleep at night so I take klonopin. I'm in a vicious circle. I'm giving advice that I don't take myself. 😊
Right now I just walk in the neighborhood. It is winter where I live so I get little time to be in the sun. What little I do really helps. I listen to music and go into my own little world.
