intrusive thoughts are normal in my life as a GAD person but sometimes it becomes so sever that I can't control them the even leads me to act and believe in them I'm feeling so bad I can't enjoy the current moment and it last for weeks I feel like I'm in a loop with these awful thoughts. Any effective ideas to overcome this situation.

My battel with intrusive thoughts
Ive been rotating meds and to see what happens to thoughts.
I've been where you are. Yesterday, I had a very awful time with intrusive thoughts. I actually was able to get some relief from tapping via The Tapping Solution (i recommend it). Most guides are free. It's easy and quick.
I know this is hard, but, try to stay in the present moment. TV helps me, I focus on it to the point where my thoughts don't own me.
Journaling also helps me, and maybe try also Binaural beats. The videos all over YouTube for free. That helped me once when i was having a really hard time.
>>>Binaural beats in the alpha frequencies (8 to 13 Hz) are thought to encourage relaxation, promote positivity, and decrease anxiety. Binaural beats in the lower beta frequencies (14 to 30 Hz) have been linked to increased concentration and alertness, problem-solving, and improved memory.<<<
I hope you find relief. Sending light your way✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ 🫂 hugs

Swilly79, I want to piggyback on what you said about youtube videos, there are specific videos on there called ASMR. ASMR videos are soft-spoken and whispered. These videos have helped curb my intrusive thoughts and I recommend watching them - a good ASMR to start is Cosmic Whispers 😗
Such a good idea! Asmr is definitely helpful 😊. Thank you TangledUpIn
I had to get my medication increased to deal with intrusive thoughts. It finally kicked in about a week ago but it’s been a long few weeks! I’m sorry to hear you are having intrusive thoughts so badly - they make healing so much harder. Sending you support and strength 🙏🏻
The truth is that we can't control what thoughts pop into our mind but we can choose how to react to them. Trying to control your thoughts just perpetuates them and you then get caught up in the cycle. One of the keys to healing anxiety is learning that you don't have to believe your anxious thoughts and realize that they are just lies and their intent is to protect you but now they are malfunctioning and you don't need protecting.
I suggest you check out the youtube videos of DARE Anxiety, they have a lot of good info on intrusive thoughts and GAD, also the youtube of Paige Pradko has good info. You might also check out The Work by Byron Katie for a simple method of questioning your thoughts, she has some books out and is on youtube.
I've found that learning and practicing simple mindfulness meditation helps in learning to let the thoughts flow in and out of our mind and disengage with our thoughts.
You may also benefit from medication if you are not currently taking anything, you can talk to a psychiatrist or your doctor about it.
I'm actually on medication it's work, thankfully, but I've setbacks here and there. Thank you. I really appreciate it
I wish I did I can relate to your post. Hope the days ahead bring you peace
