One Moment at a Time

You know, I've been to hell and back, and then back a few more times. What I've done recently is made my "Suffering Resume'" aka a cookie jar. Everyone should write one down. The Purpose of the cookie jar is so when your really down on yourself, you can look at your resume' and see everything that you have OVERCOME! Let it be a reminder to you of just how strong you are.

Thank You. It helps me when I'm having a down on myself day. I realize that those dark times in our life is not something that we want to remember, but we can actually find strength in that darkness that once was.

The purpose of my cookie jar is ...wait for it...cookies! So I'm going to have a think about where I can keep my suffering resume. It's going to have to be big, really big. A brilliant idea by the way. Pam

Lol, well for a "really big" suffering resume like yours, i suggest you hand it over to the "Thee Really Big Guy" in the sky! He needs people like you up there, and with a resume like yours! You got the position he has in mind for you, and not just anybody will do.

I hope that is true. That is my ultimate goal , but not today. Pam

I forgot to say Thank You for your first comment. I can't take credit for the idea (my good conscience is getting to me) of the "cookie jar" BUT i can for the resume'. Basically it comes down to whatever you want to call it. Lol.

Thanks dom410 it does help, because we forget what it took to survive it all. All being ALL the BS ! Lol

Thank you. Yes we are stronger because of what we have fought and survived.

That is a great idea. I use my daily diary and just open it at random entries and see how I was then to how I am now. I have a couple of volumes of my journal now so it is easy to pick up one from over 6 months ago.

Love your idea though.

Thank You. It wasn't entirely my idea. But an idea i heard of. I think we ALL have fought through suffering at all different levels, and that requires great inner-strength and perseverance. Each time we go through suffering of any kind and have given ourselves no other option but to see it through, to overcome it, whatever it may be. Unbeknown to us, we have EARNED "bragging rights" and a thicker skin, a hardened willpower, an inner confidence that can be recollected on and used at a different time in our life as fuel and as an acknowledgment that "i beat that and that before, i CAN surely beat this now!" Empower yourself when you recollect on how you overcame in your past! Just because there is no "pysical diploma" or certificate to look at in a frame,. It's up to the individual to create one in his or her mind.

This is a very interesting idea. I may give it a try. Thanks.

Thank You. It will work because we ALL have come through suffering of some sort, and it took a great deal of inner-strength and perseverance to get through it. Because of this, you unknowingly gave yourself no other option but to win and grow that much stronger than you were. Use these recollections to empower yourself TODAY! After all, it is an accomplishment that you should always be proud of.
