Yes I check the stove is off. Lights on my car and hug my bunny before I go somewhere I must be anxious I guess. I try not to have rituals rather routines
Is it ocd? I have ocd realised I've had it from childhood. I used to have to wave to my dad very early in the morning if I missed a morning I would think something bad will happen. Many years layer when my daughter was extremely hyperactive and I didn't sleep full blown ocd came on. Been trying to control it ever since. Stress makes it much worse. Have you found you check things more if stressed?
I haven't really thought about it. It was so much a part of me it seemed normal. I hardly do it anymore and when I do I consider it an eccentricity . I like being a little eccentric, it suits me. So I don't know, what do you think ?
It’s easy under stress to have rituals because your anxious your brains tired flooded. Lots of people check the stove taps before leaving the house. This lessens when you deal with anxiety. Get better rest eat right take spiritual time for self in the day. It’s depends how many rituals you have lol. If a lot just take the chance of not doing one and see if anything bad happens. Maybe your heart rate will go up you get anxiety flood but ... did anything bad happen?? Likely not. It’s desensitization and it takes awhile. If you need to do a few rituals so what lots of high functioning people do too. So why friggin worry about it. To worry?? Well that’s just silly. Your mind is actually saying gimmie a break so do it.
