My mind is racing and it is only thinking bad things

My girlfriend recently broke up with me so we could work on ourselves. She promised we could still talk and be in contact with each other. She didn't respond to me for several hours yesterday and it was very short when she did and then today I have gone several more hours without a response or even her opening the message. I tried calling just So i could hear her voice bust she didn't answer. My heart wants to say she is just busy and will answer me when she can but my head is telling me awful things. I don't know what to to do. I am sitting here driving myself crazy with worry and I am trying to withhold from any more contact so I don't come off as pushy. I just want her to say hi or acknowledge me in some way.

She meant what she said. You work on yourselfs and then get back together. Not pretend you are finished and pretend you are not a couple anymore and still speak to each other a lot etc.
