It’s a decent sleep med though I felt very tired the next day. My dr told me to only take it occasionally as you shouldn’t combine 2 anti depressants for too long. Definitely safer than a benzo in my opinion.

Well trazodone is an snri and lexapro is ssri. So idk. I agree there both antidepressants. But my doc said nothing about interactions but i know the internet says major interaction. Lol

I think it can be major. Best to ask your doctor

My doc seemed fine with me taking both..

I liked trazadone. Not too many side effects and a nice calming effect. I wouldn't be worried about this one.

It’s safe. It’s been around foreeeevvver! I agree I can feel drowsy the next day. A cup of tea in the morning takes care of it for me. Good luck

How long does it take to kick in?

NeuronerdDoaty profile image
NeuronerdDoaty in reply toMike7777

Shouldn’t be more than 20 minutes depending on your metabolism and other meds.

Im worried i will get serotonin syndrome from it

Trazodone is a tetracyclic. These two meds are often given together. There’s no serotonin issue. But, I don’t know what else you’re on.

Trazodone and lexapro

Stay hydrated and don’t forget to eat. Tell your doc anything you feel. It would be highly unlikely you’ll have a problem. Don’t look at google first. Call the office but it’s not common to get that side effect. It would be an idiosyncratic side effect. (Specific to a few)

They are both antidepressants and i have googled some stuff people saying bad side effevts.

They are but they’re made different. They’re received in your brain differently. You have different types of receptors. Like I said T is a tetracyclic. Perhaps the pharmacist can explain it to you. It’s like Tylenol and aspirin both being for pain but you aren’t going to OD on them if you take them at the same time.

Start low and see how you feel.

I just took a Trazodone last night and woke up with the worst headache ever! I take Lexapro daily and prescribed max dose. Never again

I've been taking both for years and it is a wonderful combination for my anxiety and insomnia.

Does anyone know if trazodone lexapro and seroquil are all safe together? I’m sure they are because my doctor prescribed it but both seroquil and trazodone are major under lexapro on drugs.com of course I’m taking lexapro for my anxiety and that Info doesn’t help.

I took both lexapro and trazodone at the same time and had a bad ecperience. Probably too much serotonin. You have to watch that. Wats ur dose

I’m on Cymbalta and Clonopin and have been for years. My doctor is experimenting with sleeping pills for me I’ve tried Ambien, Doxepin, and trazodone and nothing has worked so far. In answer to your question I’ve been on Lexapro and Seroquil And had to stop the Seroquil because it gave me the worst hi in the world I felt like I was on a really fast roller coaster that wouldn’t stop it was the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced.
