Don't think your alone i feel same way

Don't feel selfish, ever. It's not selfish to have those feelings whatsoever. Everyone wants to have good friends and feel wanted! Sometimes we may have friends, but they don't fill our needs in a way that makes us feel we are really in their life (or wanted). Everything you said is how I feel almost every day. There's a lot of phone numbers of 'friends' I think I have, but we rarely talk. Unless I go out of my way to speak to some of them, I rarely have anyone reach out to me first. I could go a whole week without my phone and come back to it with either no calls (except robocalls) or texts (maybe one or two, but more than likely nothing).

It's not to say NO one cares, but for how much I see people with their nose against their phone, I would assume most people have a way to contact you. Though I feel your post is referring more towards the lack of contact equals people not wanting anything to do with you, yes? This is how I feel too if that's the case. To me, actions speak louder than words.

Social media is something I feel is so toxic for those suffering from depression. Within the last year, I found myself experiencing FOMO (fear of missing out) since a lot of people I know will post pictures of things they are doing together (without me) and that triggers those feelings of worthlessness (or that no one wants me there). So I no longer have Facebook or Instagram (except for art, but even then I rarely look). It sucks when you've made attempts at spending time with ones who claim they are busy but are posting pictures of themselves hanging out with other friends instead. To me, it just presses the knife deeper into my heart, solidifying the idea that I am easily forgotten, undesirable, unlikable and not worth the time.

You're most certainly not alone in these feelings nor are you somehow wrong for having them. No one enjoys feeling left out and when you have depression, it can often seem like it's because of that. But in reality, we are going to have people come and go from our life all the time. We may lose friends, but we'll make new ones eventually.

Please don't beat yourself up for posting this.

You don't need alot of friends you just need a few or even just one

Exactly. It's all about quality, not quantity.

Hope your ok 😊

You aren't selfish. Reaching out to connect to people is healthy and positive way to improve mental health. Though I am not local to where you are I'd welcome a new friend. Feel free to instant message me if you would like to talk.
