I can’t keep being a guinee pig it’s too hard! I think I’m going to switch from Lithium to Latuda. Can somebody give me any input on them? Lithium is not doing much... I barely get by. I always had good results on antidepressant but I think over the years it started to be bad for my health. Lots of side affects like droopy face dry eyes baaaad! Scratching... all went away when I stopped taking them. Now they are competing back now that I’m back on meds but this time it’s a mood stabilizer. Same thing I’m going to take a 1/2 pill of lithium today... ER but she told me to still cut it in half the take the Latuda tomorrow then keep going down on the lithium Does that sound right... we know better than the docs I believe.
Can’t take much more! : I can’t keep... - Anxiety and Depre...
Can’t take much more!
Wish I could help..... I hope you get some responses and things get better quickly!!
Hi Bee. Have looked up the name of the drug you have been prescribed on drugs.com under alphabetical order. It has a generic name of Lurasidone which I cross matched with yellowcardMHRA uk.gov under drugs profile analysis tab with alphabetical index. The results from drugs. com was that for people who suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts might increase on the drugs. The results form yellowcard.gov.uk indicated that in all women according to age there were serious side effects with psychiatric symptoms shown to be highest. Other body systems can be affected such as heart. As you have had all these symptoms with the long term drug vanish when you stop, may be you should have a general health check. Drugs can affect other body organs, so you should read your leaflet to see what it says. If it were me, I would check how long it takes to cut down your present drug to a low dose. If you come off it you may suffer from withdrawal symptoms if you don't stagger the dose. Your pharmacist will help you lower the dose. They can advise you of toxic side effects of any drugs but sometimes the prescription leaflets are withdrawn from the boxes which is against the law in the uk but may be not where you live. If people have an allergy there is no way of finding out about a medication or side effects such as breathing problems if they do not have a leaflet. I would be wary of a drug with known side effects of a serious nature being recorded by the UK government. Sorry I can't talk from personal experience of these drugs but am wary as some meds have had bad side effects and so I don't take them unless absolutely necessary, Take care.
