Is anyone scared of Area 51 and aliens? I must be losing my mind as this scared me! I must be in a depressed mood as I usually don’t believe in aliens! Help me understand this please!

Conspiracy theories are very seductive. Maybe we have been visited by extra terrestrials, maybe the U.S. government first contacted them in 1952. Lots of people claim to have seen and photographed UFOs.

My advice, there's nothing people like you or me can do about it either way. So let's just get on with our lives (which doesn't include aliens).

Don't worry about something you can't do anything about and isn't causing you problems. Plenty of other problems to sort in our lives without having to worry about visitors from the planet Pluto.

It’s likely to be just your anxiety magnifying thoughts which then scare the crap out you. Speaking from experience, if you didn’t have anxiety, you would probably not even give it any attention and it would pass, without so much as a flicker. Anxiety tricks you into placing false belief into that thought because it scared you. You think you have to do something about it so you worry about it. A lot. That worrying just keeps the scary thoughts coming so you worry some more. Welcome to the anxiety cycle.

Anxiety is telling you to quit worrying....about your anxiety, which includes those thoughts about Area 51. When you do that, those thoughts disappear. You will then look back and wonder why the hell something like that scared you. It was just anxiety. Nothing more.
