How do you manage breakdowns when your meds generally work?

I'm on 3 meds, one to sleep, one to stay safe during the day, and one to keep from spacing out during the day. In general, they work for me, I sleep when I'm supposed to, I get up and go to work, and I'm not awful at it. But there are times when I feel like I'm handing everything ok, and then suddenly I'm not. Granted they are pretty shitty things to have to handle, break ups, being evicted, having no money...but at first it's like I'm clear and focused on the thing that's causing an issue, and then the next I'm bawling so hard I can't breathe, and then I'm a zombie who feels nothing but what feels like the un-ending discomfort of just existing. How do I keep these breakdowns from happening? How do I manage those times when my meds aren't enough?

What all are you on med wise? Some can have side effects.

It sounds like you are having mood swings. Have you explained these symptoms to a doctor? From what you described it sounds like you are going from one extreme to another. You might have a mood disorder? I am not a doctor nor pretend to be one. I would see a doctor about these symptoms. You are worth it.
