Regular Ativan?

This is a painful way to go through life - constantly worried that something bad is about to happen. I was doing better for awhile, but now my anxiety is trying to get back in.

I see my doctor next month. Maybe I’ll ask him about a safe and effective way to use my Ativan. Right now, I’m supposed to take it “as needed”, but I’m wondering if it would help me to take it on some kind of a regular schedule.

Have any of you ever used Ativan (or any other anti-anxiety med) on a regular basis? If so, how did it go?

My psychiatrist prescribed Ativan each morning because I woke up TERRIFIED of the day. That helped a bit, but he switched to Xanax, which worked well while he was trying out find correct AD. Am at weaning off stage, which is hard because it’s an addictive substance. But I wouldn’t have been able to go through these past months without it. Hope this helps. We’re all different

I know your post was months ago but I just saw it. My neighbor takes 1 mg of Ativan 3 x a day and has done so for 20 years. I am going to go to his dr as I need it daily!
