Jumping to Conclusions

Anyone else do this constantly? I woke up with a toothache and sensitivity. It’s actually a dental implant and crown so not a cavity. Anyway, I immediately thought it’s infected and it will get worse and it’ll need to be extracted. I’ll be prescribed antibiotics which I was have adverse reactions, too...Yada, yada, yada.

I do this with just about everything in my life especially with my physical health.

Some of my worst moments are waking up in the night with a slight pain here or there and it sends me into a panic attack.

I do this a lot.

You’re certainly not alone in this. I am really bad for doing it with my physical health too.

It’s so easy to do and even though I am sometimes aware I am doing it, I find it hard to stop myself. I often assume the worst!

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of ‘unhelpful thinking styles’ ; you may have done if you’ve ever had therapy. You can find out more if you Google it. Anyway! Jumping to conclusions is actually one of them.

I do this all the time. It's hard to stop even when I know I'm doing it. I'm constantly jumping to the worst case scenario.
