How long for Zoloft to help?

I’ve been on Zoloft for 5 weeks now and still have awful anxiety everyday. How long does it take to kick in and start helping...I’m taking 150mg each day

My psychiatrist said it takes up to 6 weeks but I have felt a difference in couple weeks .

I am current on Lexapro . I took Zoloft for few months and it didn’t work for me . The side effects were horrible and I was still having a lot of anxiety .

It is hard to say since each person works different. I take 30 mg of Lexapro but some people see a huge difference with 10 mg .

Talk to your doctor . He might need to raise the dose or try something else .

Is this your first antidepressant ?

I was actually on zoloft for 7 years and felt great so I weaned myself off of it...big, HUGE mistake! She put me back on it when I went back to her with the awful anxiety 5 weeks ago and I thought I’d have some relief by now but it just doesn’t seem to be helping. I may have to call and ask her about switching to something else...

How long did you stay without medication ? Are you taking a lower dose than before ?

I was without anything for 6 months and then it hit again like a ton of bricks. I’ve now been back on for 5 weeks...I’m taking 150mg which is the highest dose I’ve been on

I have had breaks from my Lexapro for 6 months . It was not a good outcome

Talk to your doctor !

Try to record how you feel everyday this way you can look back to your notes when you have an appointment with your doctor

I do not know I am on 100 mg of Zoloft. And an anti anxiety tab which does not seem to do any good. I am going to talk to my Dr. About this, I suggest you do the same. Good Luck. Big Hugs Spinkle 1......

How long have you been taking it? What type of anxiety tablet? I need something like that to take the edge off until this Zoloft works
