I was on depression meds, not zoloft, and it really helped me through the toughest times. It was a much better option than drinking and smoking.

I was on cymbalta back in July and my anxiety spiked. My dr tried to add topamax to help. It didn't. So six weeks later we weened off the cymbalta and started zoloft. Right now im on zoloft, seraquil, and topamax. I've been on the seraquel a week and the zoloft new dose 3 days and the anxiety is awful.

hi! I am week 5 of Zoloft (50mg) and I feel so much better. I always have had nagging heart palpitations that have finally stopped and find that I am able to be more present and more rational when it comes to my anxiety. I would say I really started to feel like myself again during week 3. The meds alone are not enough though. What really helped was buying a book that some wonderful people in this community recommended. Check out Hope and Help for Your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes. This book was amazing. It’s a quick read and it gives such comfort and great advice. It’s really important to have tools to help you instead of relying on the Zoloft alone. I had been kind of sitting and just waiting g for it to work. I was reading positive Zoloft reviews when I couldn’t sleep at night, and they did help me, but the book has been life changing. I hope you feel better soon.

For you maybe it wasn't a good med, but it has worked for many others.

To be honest, I don't know why good stories about Zoloft would help you, because I think we all know that everyone is different, especially when it comes to medications. I've never found an anti-depressant to work for me in over 50+ years. I hadn't been on one for years until I tried Zoloft once again, out of desperation and trying to appease my doctor I suppose. Same story, didn't work. That doesn't mean it wouldn't work for you, and it doesn't mean it would work for you either. It's like reading a bunch of reviews about something, only to find you've wasted a lot of time, because they still don't tell you what you can only learn yourself.

I don't mean to be a downer, and I can only assume you're here asking because you're either thinking about trying it, or have just started. Some things we truly have to find out for ourselves. In any event, I wish you the best either way.

Zoloft has been great for me. When I shut down my business, I had the biggest depression of my life. The minute I took the med I felt better. Now I am functioning like an adult (mostly) and have hopes to start a second business.

Gender does matter with these drugs. Men and women respond differently to drugs.
