Anyone else take Cymbalta?

I've been taking Cymbalta 60mg for about a year now. Over the past week, I've been having those really bad "brain zaps" people speak of when they're coming off of it. I've also just felt "off" but can't really put words to it. My depression comes in waves, even with the medication (though not quite as low as before I took medication) so the fact that my depression is currently bad is not terribly alarming. Does anyone else take Cymbalta and have these symptoms or other side effects arise after being on it awhile? I take it at about the same time everyday, nothing there has changed. And I haven't missed a dose. I was kinda concerned that maybe I was unknowingly given a placebo and in fact was withdrawing, but I read that is apparently illegal for a pharmacist to do that.

Maybe you should withdraw from it rather than continue

You must do it with your doctor and taper off very gradually

I had this happen the entire month I first started talking Cymbalta. Then it got better, they happened less and I was able to tolerate it better when it did. Soon after, my doctor decided to switch my meds because it didnt seem to be helping overall like it could. Now I take Lexapro and Wellbutrin. I'm really happy with the lack of major side effects and how they help level my moods/depression/anxiety.

Talk to your doctor. You shouldn't have to tolerate the side effects. The benefits should outweigh any side effects of a medication.
