Hi I'm new here
Hey spider-man98. Do you know what starts or triggers your panic attacks?
Being outside in the open like a Walmart parking lot cause I think about being sucked into sky, seeing something scary on the tv, whenever I get an ache or pain I think it’s going effect my body in a bad way. My mom got medication that’s gotten a lot of great reviews but I saw a video where the doctor said any medication doesn’t cure anxiety It will have a side effect that will effect my health overtime
I just went to counseling for the first time in my life and he told me today that meds will only help temporarily but redirecting our thoughts will help the most. Have you seen someone get sucked into the sky?
No I haven’t
Do you know why these thoughts have come into your mind?
I think the thought came into my head while I was having a panic attack and it’s been stuck in my head ever since
This is my personal opinion but seeing is believing. If you have never see it happen then it won’t happen. I know there are always opinions on meds and for every five positive reviews then there is one negative review. I’m working on trying a med and forming my own opinion. A side effect for one may not affect a other
My panic attacks started in my 20s and made me fearful of going anywhere. For me I found I had thyroid disease and only needed an Rx for that. The panic spells never came back, but I still had anxiety in my mind off and on for years depending on circumstances. I finally decided meds (Paxil) were better than suffering and had marvelous relief for years. My side effect was morning drowsiness and night sweating--putting up with them was worth it. Then a psychiatrist I went to after my pet died decided to try cymbalta and my BP went way up over 200 and my health anxieties went through the roof and I went to the ER. That was two years ago and I still struggle. Your psychiatrist needs to be aware of all your illnesses.
All the panic/angst is caused by ANT (automatic negative thoughts). These thoughts give us the scary feelings and imaginings. It takes practice to talk to these thoughts and call them out by saying STOP or ANT. And then find a distraction. Volunteer work with others makes a difference, as does exercise and diet and an ongoing faith. Inheriting this dilemma or coming by it through some bad experience won't take it away completely, but it can certainly be improved a lot.

Do you suffer from vertigo or did you at some point?
It’s really falling into the sky. An umbrella and hat may help you until you can get help with the delusion. I hope you’re getting help.
Yeah, exactly. Except for me it's into the darkness. When I'm driving at night and go over a hill, it feels like I could just fall into the darkness. I know the feeling!
