Hi, I'm new, I am in my 60's and have been suffering with Generalized Anxiety for the last 4 years. I am unable to work anymore and miss that. My family doesn't understand since I am told it is all in my help. Hopefully I can get some good ideas how to control this anxiety and continue to live my life instead of staying home and not living.

Have you tried to enjoy your new free time by making a list of all the things you wished to do but didn't have time for before? You could Volunteer or start a new hobby. Most of all you could start researching your issue. There are many self help programs on public television. You have earned the right to enjoy your life at 60... Go Enjoy ❤
I would go out and do things if I could find a way around the anxiety of leaving my home
welcome, i am also in my 60's, have major depression for over 20 years. husband and two kids understand the disease after living with my recurring bouts. did something happen four years ago that you can attribute to the anxiety?
Actually I was working at a job I loved, but was just promoted to a more stressful job. Loved working with the people, but was noticing that my boss didn't have my back. They my IBS started up and then I was called into my boss and told they had hired someone in my place but they had another place for me. I was hurt since I had been there 13 years and put everything into the new position. I was finally feeling comfortable in the new position. So I gave a months notice put everything in good order for the. Ew person and left. I was hurt by my boss. Then I went into a new job that was so stressful that I had to quit after only 5 months of working 60 hour weeks. It's when the anxiety kicked in that things got bad.
The gits. What a thing to do to you. I expect you were furious, but were strung along with promises which stopped you feeling able to express your anger. How about talking to a solicitor about constructive dismissal, which is what this sounds like to me.
Yes, I have not been able to work since then. I'm finally getting out , doing new things, but have to struggle each time I go out. I want to feel normal again.
Are you in the US? I hope that you are able to get unemployment. Sixty hour weeks - wow. I have heard that IBS can be painful. Good goal taking little steps.
