anxiety so bad
Yeah, one of the medications I was on cause some muscle spasms too( not trazadone, so I can’t be positive that’s what’s causing this, but it could be) but I would bring these concerns up to your doctor. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a way to fall asleep and relieve your anxiety without it, but it may be a little difficult at first.
Is a muscle spasm like a foot jerk or something
I think so? Honestly I’m not positive how it works but there would be times my arm kinda just moved on it’s own ( like a jerk, I wasn’t flailing or anything it would just move a little) and that’s what my psychiatrist said is that uncontrollable muscle movements( now that I think about it, it was not referred to as a spasm) are a potential side effect of one of my meds, so she changed that one.. I would definitely ask your doctor, but it sounds very familiar
Yeah my foot slightly moves a bit not like flailing as well
yeah, im in no way a medical professional/ doctor, but it does remind me of my own symptoms of “uncontrollable muscle movements “
but as clopez1514 has mentioned her anxiety has caused similar issues.. so id bring these problems up to a doctor to find out
i have and my doctor basically brushed it off and suggested i go on miratzipine. i dont want to rely on drugs, ive been fine without them before.
i know what you mean, technically im not a doctor so i cant recommend it, but after the meds helped me through my tough times i ended up stopping them to try things on my own ( i also shyed away because some of the side effects) .. its gone well for a little over a year, but now im slipping back into depression/ and some anxiety and wish i would of found the medication that works for me. that is a very personal decision and choice so i cant say much lol
I have issues sleeping now too. My entire body experiencing spasms and jerking. You are not alone and I’m just as scared.
Is it due to anxiety? Are you on meds?
I have a psychiatrist appointment Monday. No meds. My doctor says it’s all anxiety. It started 5/28 when I couldn’t stop burping for two days Liz the put me on omeprezole which started my stomach pains. I had a CT scan of my abdominal and pelvis a couple of weeks ago and my headaches started full blown. My muscle pain started a few days ago and the spasms 2 to 3 weeks into this anxiety episode. I’ve been battling anxiety intensely since 5/28.
I am on gabapentine for migraines and it’s been helping some what with the anxiety. I’m not shaking as bad anymore. The ER gave me Ativan which I took a few times when it was severely bad. Now I’m waiting on an MRI (which my doctor doesn’t think I need because she thinks it’s al anxiety) and my endoscopy. I have myself convinced I have some kind of disease. I even begged her to give me a throat mri because I didn’t believe acid reflux could feel so bad-nothing wrong. I had a nervous break down after a back injury 2 years ago.. I haven’t been the same since.
What kind of spasms do u get? Girl im literally freaking out
I get them all over it was mainly on my forearm and calves and now every where. Logically thinking, none of this happened until my anxiety hit glow blown. That’s a lot of stress on the body and nervous system.
I suffer from chronic migraines myself as well as, insomnia, anxiety (just recently, even more so), depression, & use to suffer from night terrors. I was diagnosed with all of these things by doctors. After all the doctors, all only held onto 2 of them, my neurologist & my primary. The therapy I tried over & over with various ones. None worked out so I gave up.
I'm on Trazodone as well. 100-150 mg a night. I had it prescribed by my neurologist as well as Melatonin 10 mg a night. I also take medications to manage my migraines. A total of 4 different ones. I still get them nearly every single day. I don't know if it's my allergies, my daily stresses, my anxiety, my emotions, or what... just don't know.
With my migraines, I know that I sometimes get twitches around my head & face area. With any of my mental conditions, I actually do get ticks, twitches, sudden foot movement then stops, like a quick kick, like The Flash.
After looking up the side effects of Trazodone, there are none that say anything about ticks or twitches. So, whatever is happening to you, isn't caused by that. It could still just be your anxiety. You're over-worrying yourself too much & sometimes with all that anxiety, I know because I just went through some harsh attacks the past 2 weeks, it can cause a lot of sudden movements, ticks, & twitches.
In the past 2 weeks, I was doing what you're doing, over-worrying about my husband & thinking he was going to die on me. He was just really, really sick but doctors were concerned that he had either, a blood clot in his lung, cancer, or too much fluid. For nearly 2 weeks I nearly lost all control of myself. I would've of too if it weren't for a friend I called twice during this entire thing. She found ways to pull me out of my attacks. Each time.
Try finding that one person that you can chat with during these attacks so that you don't lose yourself. It's important. Find one that you know would be able to pull you back no matter what they're dealing with at that moment that you need them. That is the one that will truly listen & help you. But, just make sure that you ask them how they are too, at the end of the conversation, because maybe they need that too. My friend did all this for me while she was dealing with details for a funeral. I felt so horrible about it afterward but did make her make a deal with me. She now has to talk to me one a day every month until she's released everything.
Popcornlove, I do hope that you find your ground. I know it's hard. Try finding someone. And, I'm actually glad that I research the side effects of Trazodone. I learned something that I didn't know about what's wrong with me (like I need more!). clopez1514, I do hope that you're able to as well. Whatever I said in here is good for anyone who suffers from really bad anxiety. And the migraines are the hardest to figure out. Trying different doses of medications & switching to different etc. It's an endless battle it seems. One day each of our doctors will find the perfect combination. I do hope yours comes soon. I suffer from them so bad that I even get what's called auras. If you look them up, you'll see. I see things that sometimes aren't there. I smell things that no one else smells. I even hear things that others don't hear. It nearly drives me insane.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. My anxiety is similar to yours. It started when i worried about sleep then i came across restless leg syndrome online on google and i do move my feet when i sit or lie down sometimes but more of a nervous tic or something. Then i started to read into more symptoms and convinced myself i had the worst case. I feel the symptoms all day everyday. Ive chatted with sufferers of rls who told me i had anxiety. Everytime i get reassured it gets worse. This wouldnt be such a trivial thing but i honestly am so worried ill never sleep like i used to again and will suffer from rls and not sleep properly. I had and have my ex boyfriend, who i pushed away due to this anxiety. He couldnt take it anymore and he himself suffers from mental illness and it was taking its toll on him by me constantly pushing him away. We still contact each other, and when i was at my low he sat with me through my crying spells, massaged my sore legs and back from the stress and told me everything would be ok. I messaged him today and he helped me.
There are many people that look up online their problems, some know right off the bat that it's not what's wrong because they don't have all of what it is but, there are some, like you it seems, that when they read things online about what's wrong with them that, even with just a few of the things on the list but not all, think the worse is happening to them. That will cause a lot of anxiety for you, over-thinking something like that.
When I found out what my husband had, I researched all the causes for it & a few were scary as hell & made my anxiety really bad. In the past 2 weeks, I was having anxiety attacks nearly everyday until we finally found the cause & was being treated already. I honestly thought I was going to lose my husband. Something that I didn't want to go through again. I've lost very many close people in the past 5 years, including my parents so, me thinking my husband had the worse cause was truly, honestly driving me insane. Everyday I feared for him & when I had a free moment, I went somewhere the kids & him wouldn't see me so that I can cry it out.
Aside from a friend getting me through my attacks, I also smoked weed. It actually works wonders on anxiety. At heart for me. My chest, feeling like sometime was in there just twisting at my heart, & all the twitching & ticks slowed down & nearly completely stopped.
I know weed isn't for everyone because they get scared sitter smoking or something but if you're one that doesn't have an issue with it, if it's legal where you are, try some & if not, see if you can get a script for it, get the card etc. I know my state just approved anxiety as another condition you are able to get the card for. There are even some strains that are good for sleeping.
I do wish you lots of luck. Anxiety is very hard & scary to go through.
You'll be in my thoughts. I don't pray or stuff like that, I'm an Unbeliever, but you'll be in my thoughts.
Definitely bring this up to your doctor. Sometimes you have to try a few different meds before you get a winner. You may just need to give this med more time or try something new. I know my antidepressants caused some tension and jerking when I first started taking it. It went away after a little while though. Hoping the same for you
I think, that this medication is not working for you.... I think this is typical muscle spasms. I would talk to the doctor and ask for another antidepressant.
I wish you well and hope everything will be okay very-very soon!!
