I call it a dark cloud that has the potential of turning into a storm or it can pass then the sun comes out

A heavy dark cloud that follows me around. Even when it's not raining on me directly, it's always close to me.

Yep I call it the Devil...and I tell IT to get behind me... let the evil know who's in charge!

Dump trucks of love, peace, light, joy and cozy hugs!!!

An oppressive blanket that I can't remove. It stays over my head, I breathe, I can't seem to do anything.

Depression is like trying to play with your favorite childhood toy as an adult. Whatever it is just ... isn't there anymore.

The worst thing about depression is that one of the main symptoms is the inability to believe it could ever possibly get better. And that's not true. It always get's better.

Wow. This is nice. I really do feel it'll never get better.

That's a symptom of your disease. It's not true. It ALWAYS gets better.

Possibly the 2nd worst thing about depression is that it is an invisible illness so the people that do not understand say useless things such as "oh your fine", etc.

Lol. They really do say useless things. Some even said I'm just seeking attention.

I have not been told that one and I'm sorry that you have. Those comments are useless and can be very hurtful. I bet if fifty of us shared the most useless thing we've been told - i bet we would have 50 different answers.

Yeah. True.

I call it an heavy fog that I often don’t realize is there until after the sun starts to come back out. Sometimes I’m in a good place going into it and am able to continue living and being present in life. And sometimes I wallow in it. It tends to go away whenever I connect with someone and talk about it.
