Mixed emotions

I’m excited that I found a venue for our wedding but super anxious with dealing with my mom. She’s the one who is a main trigger of my anxiety. Last night I barely slept and I’ve been on edge for 2 days now. How to deal with the shakiness (it’s on and off)? Or to calm my nerves I should say. If I’m preoccupied I’m fine (like at work I was busy so I didn’t think of it as much).

congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

my mother is also a main trigger for me, at this point she doesn't even have to say or do anything for me to get anxious (and sometimes I don't even realize it's her making me anxious at first). keeping busy is definitely good but obviously it won't work all the time.

something else I do that I learned from my counselor is grounding techniques! my favorite is counting things I can see, hear, feel, smell, etc. if you google grounding techniques you will find more than you could ever possibly need and you can figure out which one/s work best for you, as I'm sure it's different for everyone :) good luck!

Keep an eye on your breathing , always take a moment to regroup and just say to yourself that our bodies are much stronger , mentally and physically , its hard to apply for me too but sometimes realizing how our minds work and how we manage things and solve problems really help calm us because we feel reassured that things will be alright if that makes sense , also try mediattion and exercise , for me it would cause anxiety at first because of all the exertion and the pulse and bp rise , but after a while u focus and it calms me because i feel more healthy and distracted , it also makes me a bit stronger in a way , another great tip is claire weekes acceptance method its really eye opening and to me it helped alot , not ure if all that will work for you at the end for me the problem was the affect of stress on my health not my personal life , i would say maybe exercise , dehydration, and meditations and breathing techniques are you key things
