Generalized anxiety disorder

First time on any form of support group. I have had GAD since I was about 13 and I’m now 28. I feel that this will be something I will always have to struggle with and feel very negative at the moment. Not sure if I can ever live without constant overthinking and worrying

Welcome. This group has helped me in so many ways and I hope you find some sense of security and reassurance here. It is always good to have people to talk to who can actually relate and understand. Anxiety is always lurking but it can be overcome with time and constant self care. When it rears it’s ugly head recognize it and take control. Good luck

It is so difficult to always over think. I do it everyday and am so paranoid sometimes. Drives me crazy because I’m always wondering how I can be the only person who is feeling this way!!!???

You are NOT alone

We all search the hapiness in this life, but hapiness in this world is not possible. We learn, our soul learn only suffering. Living with material body on earth is a school, a stage of our imortal soul. When we dye we return in fact to our real home.

Being happy is possible. But the kind of happiness in books and movies doesn't happen. Happiness is a moment or series of moments. Try to realize that moment (mindfulness) and enjoy. Remember that moment later.

It is not possible to be "happy" all the time. We have up (happy) moments and down (sad or stress) moments. If we can concentrate on the up then overall a person will feel happier.

"Happily ever after" is just that a fairy tale ending.

But. While we are here we can make the best of our lives. Being strong and staying positive. Grab the happy moments and never let go. do not let the suffering take hold of your life. Yes living is like school and we never stop learning. Thinking about dying only causes anxiety. Death has not happened so let’s not think about it. We think about life and there are beautiful moments in life. Stay strong.
