What do I do about this situation?
How long is a piece of string? I was pre menopausal at 40 as I realised my last few periods had been early or late and I was always regular. I went to the doctor who confirmed it. I started properly at 42 with a mega hot flush. I put up with it for years then finally went on HRT which was a godsend, so the first thing I advise you to do is check with your doctor and ask for a blood test.
I remember a nurse many years before telling me that the menopause doesn't cause new problems but can make existing ones worse and have found this to be true. I found it like being a teenager again with hormones jumping all over the place, it wasn't nice. But having come through it I feel a lot better now thank goodness. x
Did u get Angry Alot? I don't have periods cause birth control shot.. My Anxiety has been up lately sometimes I snapped at people...I don't mean to do it sometimes I don't know I'm not even doing it, or realize it.....
I wouldn't say angry as I am not naturally an angry person. Emotional is a better word. I would do things like burst into tears at work saying a customer was harrassing me on the phone. When I had my periods around 24 hours before I started I lost the brakes on my emotional moods - this wasn't as bad during the change but was constant.
I also had bad night sweats and went to the doctors about it. He said 'Anxiety and depression too?' and I said OMG YES. x
Hot flashes now. I'm 46
I started at 46 and yes I got angry episodes. I even purchased some stink bombs to throw outside to stop the neighbours shouting outside my window. You really shouldn't be buying stink bombs at 47 ! I found black cohosh helped calm me down. I haven't thrown any stink bombs since trying that although I'm still really easily irritated by things but I've calmed down enough to react.
Hormones definatly effect your moods, depression, anxiety, irritability all are very common during pre menopause or increasing symptoms if you already suffer with any of these. Female hormones effect so many things...not just down there stuff!
I would try if at all possible to find humour in your angry episodes....take a deep breath n blame it on your hormones. There seams to be more help out there for menopausal women than there used to be. Think if you know it just a phase n eventually it will calm down it makes it a bit easier to live with.
They say to let your family, kids know what you are going thru and so not to push you to far or so they understand when's mums 'having an episode' and not to wind you up further....cos you might end up pining them to the wall and biting their head off....literally 👹
