Finally received help
Hi Cleo.
I'm glad you are getting some assistance. I currently take Celexa (another SSRI) and Buspar (buspirone). Both have helped me. The SSRI took a few weeks to kick in, but the Buspar works fairly quickly. I take the SSRI in the morning and the Buspar at night (as it was making me a bit drowsy). The SSRI I never really noticed any physical effects, but that is the desired outcome. I only noticed that my mornings were easier to deal with. The Buspar has a nice calming affect that was making me drowsy, but doesn't anymore.
Hope that helps a bit.
Buspirone worked for me but Zoloft did not. As mentioned, buspirone works fast, Zoloft can take time
I'm not on Buspar but I'm using 50mg of Zoloft. It took perseverance to get through the initial week or two, but it has helped my negative thinking to be less severe. It is not a 'cure', but it is a tool. I hope you have a good experience with it.
So proud of you. I really hope these medications help. Remember everyone is different when reading bad reviews. (I'm bad about that) good luck!!!!
I take buspar 2x a day along with a SSRI. Both help me feel calmer
So glad you got help! Your doctor knows what to prescribe, but everyone reacts differently. I did not like Zoloft but you meet tons who do. ❤️
Zoloft has been a very good med for me for depression. I hope it helps you.
I use Buspiron. My body rejects almost every med. that is being used to treat anxiety and depression. Every body is different. Two Psychs. recommended Buspiron and I've tolerated it for a couple of years.
The other Pharma scripts have made me sick, sometimes to the point of walking and slamming into walls in my home as I become unsteady and fall. Serious stuff!
The Psychs say to try a new med for 6 weeks to let the body adjust to the differences. I never made it past week one with any of those other dozens of Rx.
It's so good we have this site to be able to support each other.
I suggest you listen to your body. It will send clues. Listen with an open mind and don't blame a negative reaction on your loss of sleep or the weather or your family. Finding the helpful cocktail of meds is an ongoing project that does change as we change.
Did anyone have headaches or migraines when starting Zoloft?
