Just sharing my experience with mediation . I use the Insight Timer app.
The Mediations address various issues; anxiety, depression, anger , self love, sleep etc. I started meditating regularly Sept 2018. I can honestly say it has had a life changing effect for me for the better. That’s why I am sharing . Life isn’t perfect , however meditation has enabled me to keep a demanding full time good paying job & has also enabled me to look deep within.
There is nothing better than taking the time to meditate for your yourself. Whatever the discipline, trust me, you will be surprised by the positive results.
Some of my favorite teachers ; Lou Redmond , Elliot Treves,Sarah Blondin, Lisa Romano , Tomek Wyczesany, Kenneth Soared, Michelle Zarrin, Glenda Cedarleaf, David Gandelman, & Innerspace Glasgow(Rose Goodenough). Give it a try.
namaste!

I'm getting more into it... trying to do it everyday. Quite a challenge when anxious, but like everything with this malady, facing discomfort is always the answer.
I've been doing daily guided meditations on the Headspace app for several months now. It is good to get daily repetitive practice on quieting the mind, acceptance, appreciation, etc. Very helpful towards managing anxiety (which is also one of the series, the first I did after completing the basics).
thanks for the recommendation! my BetterHelp counselor recently had me try meditation. honestly I thought I would hate it but I actually like it, so it's good to hear from someone else who's been practicing it longer than I have and finds it helpful
Do a search for Andrew Johnson Meditation on youtube and just Andrew Johnson in the App store. At the App store scroll down past the ones that are $2.99 and you'll find lite versions of his apps that are free. I downloaded all of them. My therapist recommended them to me. There's another App that I use quite a bit called "The Anxiety Guy" - again, I have the free version.
