Hey guys. I'm a little scared, I took 10mg Temazepan tonight and I'm awake 2 hours later. I thought it would have knocked me out?? Am I going to be affected in some way?

I take Temazepam for sleep, too. It's a benzo, and it should relax your nervous system. So, even if you do wake up early, it should be easier to fall back asleep.

Is it your first night?

That is only supposed to be used short term 1-2 weeks.

What was on your mind before bed? How long after taking it did you go lie down? I have about 30 minutes after taking my meds to be in bed or they don't work.

Hi. It was my first night I only used that night. I was too afraid to build a tolerance to them or to get any side effects. I was definitely on edge taking it until it kicked in a little and I just let myself go. Tough night that was.

I would not worry, then. Your adrenaline was probably too high.

Do your bedtime routine. Put on some relaxing music for the last 30 minutes. Take the meds. Do some light stretching starting with left foot, left leg, hips, left atm and shoulder, neck, massage your forehead, temples, and earlobes, then backwards down the right side. Go to bed.

Hi Clarita83, I just saw your post now. I'm not familiar with Temazepam but as jkl5500

stated, it is a benzo for those with insomnia. I would think like any other benzo, we need

to work with the medication after taking it by not fighting it. Go with flow, allow it to do

it's job by using deep breathing and meditation to relax. If it was your first night in

taking it, you may have been apprehensive enough to have fought the calming effects.

Of course, always talk with your doctor regarding any new meds. xx

Thank you Agora. I indeed was on edge in general that night and the thoughts of what could go wrong with the sleeping pill wound me up in a crazy fashion.

I was lying there waiting for it to kick in with no relaxation in mind. My anxiety and panic is out of control, and I'm not taking anything for it. I think a trip to the Dr is in order.

I agree Clarita, time for some one on one talk with your doctor.

My best xx

I doubt it clarita , 10mg isnt anything to worry about ,as to waking up after 2 hrs that happens if your worried as you fall asleep or are just not ready for sleep (as happens sometimes) before you take a sleeping med try to get relaxed first , mediate of you can or do something you find rekaxing

You obviously know this info but dont worry about having just 2 hrs slerp that afterall might be all your body and mind needs sometimes , hope this helps
