Heavy blanket for anxiety/panic sufferers

Do you use a heavy blanket that is made to comfort the body to help it to relax?

They are expensive and I don't know if it would be too warm for the summer months.

Washable?

I use heavy comforter to keep me warm and comfy and probably a feeling of safe. I have AC and fan on me, to help me control my blankie world. Thumbs up to blankie:)

That means in your world, the use of heavy blankets helps.

Not necessary to spend all that money on buying a weighted one?

Have to every ordered than returned a heavy blanket to try the difference?

I'm low income senior so I ask a lot of questions before buying.

Appreciate your advice.

If you need assistance, contact your local churches and or community resource centers, they will help you. You need to do what works for you, blanket or no blanket, your comfort zone.

I sleep with my 75 pound dog. I started to keep her in the room because I thought she might sense the fear of nightmares and wake me up. She does......but I gradually realized that she needs to be touching me in some way when she sleeps. Dogs and lions do that. Lately I cannot fall asleep unless she is close.....usually she keeps her head on my foot......the warmth and slight pressure really do keep me calm at night. I also keep the fan and/or AC on.

I'm allergic too. I found out after I had had the dog for several years. I told my allergist that I would not get rid of her. The Dr. said I could keep her, but not to let her in the bedroom. The allergies make me sneeze.. That is nothing compared to the dreams. I chose sleep.

I have a 12lb weighted blanket. Been using it for a few weeks. I like it but it does get hot. I have to have the AC on.
