Low vitamin D: So my doctor orders me... - Anxiety and Depre...
Low vitamin D
Stephanie, my wife has recently had exactly the same problem. About a month or more ago she developed all over joint pain and when she had a blood test her Vitamin D levels were low and she has been prescribed a vit D tablet (even though she takes a fish oil capsule every day containing 100% of the RDA for vit D).
We'll see what happens, could be fibromyalgia in her case though.
I’m sorry to hear that i hope u find out what is wrong with ur wife
Yes it’s horrible my joint hurt me along with all over body pain and it’s making my anxiety go to an all time high luckily to dr ran many test and all came back negative I’m hoping over the next 6 weeks these pills help to boost it
Good news Stephanie, I checked on Google and 4 sites listed all over muscular and joint pain and also bone pain as a major symptom of Vitamin D deficiency.
As you (and my wife) had very low levels of vit D in their blood tests it seems that this could be the cause of the all over joint pain that you and her are experiencing.
She has one high dose vit D tablet she has to take once a week.
So give it time for the vit D tablets to kick in and the pains should disperse.
You see, Doctor Google doesn't only give frightening news, he gives reassuring news as well!
Oh thank you and u are right it’s not always bad to google lol but I’m staying away from it that is my goal to not use dr google cuz I always end up with me going to die but I’m hoping working the next few weeks I will feel better my dr gave me a pill once every week for 6 weeks barely did my first dosage this week
I live in the northeast and a doctor told me most people have a vitamin D deficiency, mostly because we get vitamin D from the sun. It's good to take a supplement. Low D can make you feel tired.
Yes I had the same symptoms. I had low vitamin D. After taking vitamin D I noticed my fatigue went away and I have tons of energy. It’s a common problem.
That is so good to hear I’m hoping it will subside in the weeks to come because it makes it worse to deal with my anxiety
Being physically fatigued and forcing yourself to do things would create anxiety in any normal person. I wouldn’t be surprised if your anxiety symptoms improve dramatically once you treat vitamin d deficiency.
Yes and I have really bad anxiety so with my body achy and being so fatigued it’s makes me think I’m diying or i have something horrible that is causing me a slow death idk but I don’t like that my mind goes there but I know I will be ok
I have low vitamin D. How long did it take for you to notice the change in your energy?
A couple of weeks. After a month it was a profound change. I think it depends on the person and how their body works.
Hi, I am vitamin D deficient as well & it do have my with body aches & fatigues. My dr ordered 50,000 units a week & 1,000 units daily.
I’m on the same dosage and get the body aches hurt a lot and feeling so tired and drained I just want to feel back up to myself I hate the dizziness but maybe that will subside once I get control of my anxiety
Same thing I said bc my body still aches although I take the supplements so idk how soon I’ll start feeling better due to it, but hopefully soon! I have bad anxiety too so that probably plays a part in it as well
I have the same dosage, mine is genetic. But it has also caused a vitamin b12 deficiency. Which makes anxiety horrible!! I have seen a slight improvement with the b12 shots but it apparently takes 6-12 months for the lack of it to be reversed since I had such low levels. Vitamin D helps with absorption and if you digestive system is a mess your b12 is probably low too. It gets better over time and you will
feel the difference believe me. At first there are some hills and valleys so don’t be discouraged.
How low was your vitamin D mine is 16 but wasn’t given anything
