SO relieved!

Finally went back to the vestibular specialist on Monday. Had to do the initial exam all over again -hadn’t been there since Jan- but it went drastically better this time. Did some PT moves with me and gave me moves to do at home.

The upper cervical adjustments are getting easier, had that yesterday.

Had my first PT appt with the neuro/optometrist today. Great improvement with the concussion glasses. She thinks I’m having more of a vestibular problem so isn’t even going to do PT with me! Back in 2 months for a checkup.

Also doing great on this latest Ativan cut (down to .75) and upping the Remeron (7.5).

😊

Thank you!! It’s Ben hard dealing with a concussion, appts and med changes all at once. Hoping/praying it will be easier than I was anticipating.

Wonderful! Could you tell me more about your Ativan tapering? I'm going to need to do that at some point and I flirt with doing it a little everyday.

Definitely do it with the help of a professional! (I personally preferred a psychiatrist over my regular doctor) Slower is better and only cut a little at a time. When I first tried doing it on my own I cut too much, too fast. My anxiety sky rocketed and I felt worse. Right now I’m cutting .25mg at a time and I’m hoping to cut every 2 wks. Listen to your body. Some ppl have to go slower or cut even less at a time. I think I have it a little easier bc I’m also on another anxiety med. If you need help/support definitely reach out to me.😊

I appreciate that. I've actually been doing the ¼ cut occasionally, like today. I usually take .5 at lunchtime, and today I only took a ¼. I can tell the difference but so far it's not unmanageable.

You only take .5 a day? I’ve read the lowest dose you’re on and the less time you’ve been on it the easier it is. It might take a few days to feel anything negative because of the half life of the medicine. (Something I don’t completely understand) Meditation/praying/journaling helps me a lot too. Basically anything that will help with your anxiety.

No, I take .5 at a time. I'd be taking 1 and ¼ a day - not too bad, I know. But boy it helps me.

That’s a good thing, just sucks bc you don’t wanna use it long term.
