take a breath. I know it's hard. everyone is unique and has different coping mechanisms but something that helps me with panic attacks is to write. just put all my feelings down on paper. it doesn't matter if any of it makes sense or is coherent or even legible. just getting it out of my brain helps for me. I hope that helps you a bit too
I've had many panic attacks, and they will ALWAYS pass, no matter how horrible they seem at the time. Calm down the best you can , and know that time is on your side.
It's just adrenaline. It can actually help if you use some of it - go for a brisk walk if you can. This will pass, usually in under a half an hour.
Thank you guys, really
I'm thinking with nostalgia at the days when I was a child. They a gone and never return. At that time I run outside as long as day is and never had health problem. I missed those days. Now I'm older and ill. Why?
Good morning! Well, I woke up and so did you, so that's a great start. Are you in therapy and/or on meds for your disorder?? Dropped my glasses and can hardly see with these old ones I have on!! Have you ever heard of "mindfulness " I learned this method while in an IOP group. Just Google mindfulness and try one baby step at a time. Also, Google the app. Calm. Easy meditation. Peace
I have started sleeping with my dog. My husband had cervical spine surgery, and has to sleep in the hosp bed. My "man who isn't there" was showing up more and more frequently since I was alone at night. I thought that the dog might make me feel safer. It is working well so far. A dog can calm anxiety, or warn you if your anxiety or panic attack is coming on. It can alert you when you need to step back emotionally.
I told my husband that the dog isn't much different from him. She hogs the bed, steals the blankets, snores, and passes gas all night.
