Do you think by living alone in my own place in the middle of the city where I could go anywhere anyhow and meet up different people...I'm getting tired and exhausted bcs I'm currently in a small town with no public transport, no one to meet, nowhere to be.
Plus, we can't even go out for dinner or coffee or ice cream bcs I'm on a diet where I can't take any sugar or carbs. Could these be causing me to feel sad ?

I am in kind of the same predicament. We probably could get out there if we really want to. We just need to accept we probably actually like staying at home. Tv, computer etc are pretty nice. We live in 21st century, being at home is very normal now. We can get our groceries, food, drinks, clothes, everything delivered to us, even work from home. We don't ever have to leave home, only if we really want to. I am trying to figure out if I really just like hanging out at home for now. I ran around for decades working, carpooling, volunteering, running errands etc etc out of the home and it was a lot of fun and a lot of work, exhausting. Maybe some time at home, a break is needed. I can't find anything that really motivates me to get out there for now. I just need to find things in the house that keep me busy, occupied. Last year I knitted, that was fun. I am ready for another challenge, busy work.
You just need to figure out if you want, need to hang out home for now. If so, find your happy, busy work. We live in the 21st century so lots of options, even with friends online
Ahahah I think you misunderstood me. I DON'T like being at home. When I stayed alone I could go out wherever whenever and didn't need to wait for cars. Here in a small town there's nothing to do and no public transport when the cars are all being used. So I feel exhausted and tired just sitting at home doing nothing.
Hi it's never a good idea to cut out a whole food group especially as carbs give you energy and you said you are exhausted!
My advice is to take the word 'diet' out of your vocabulary unless you intend to stay on it for life. You are much better advised to eat healthily and this is sustainable. Even thin people need and eat carbs. Thin people also eat ice cream and chocolate etc. but in moderation. If you deny yourself something then you will crave it all the more. There is a good weight loss site on here so why not join it?
You need to also ensure you are eating enough otherwise your body will try desperately to hang on to the calories and will lower your metabalism thus leading to yo yo dieting. This is why when you go off your diet you often put even more weight back on.
Oh and whats wrong with just having a skinny Latte when you go out? x
Ahahah it's a specific diet I have to follow for a short while. Doctor's orders. It's fine I can still eat good food at home. There's lots of substitutes. But the issue is when I go out. I can't eat much stuff bcs I don't know what they cooked with ://
Coffee with who though ? My family usually doesn't want to. And if they do...nobody talks to each other. My parents talk about work, bros use their phones. And I just sit there.. trying to include myself and others where I can.
Sigh...they wanted me to come live with them so bad. But after the first month they just stopped even eating together. Dad hangs with his friends, mum has work, bros have their friends. I had great friends and a good routine back home. But they stressed me out into coming here. I should've just enrolled in uni there sooner.
Oops sorry, can you get a car of your own? If not, walk? Bicycle? Network with carpooling with friends, new friends? I used to use the car a few times a week. My spouse and I only had one vehicle for years. Monday thru Friday I had no vehicle, only the weekends. So, I drove my spouse to work on Tuesday and Thursday to have the car. I would run my errands, volunteer, go out for lunch, anything to just get out of the house. No internet back in those days. We eventually saved enough money to buy a cheap second car. I ended up getting a job because car insurance etc etc spending more money. That was fun and very exhausting. I get being housebound, just need to come up with a plan pros and cons and make it work, make your happy, happier.
I am trying to understand and help. I hope it is just a temporary situation, either moving back to the city you better relate to or if you have to stay for a bit, you can make new friends. Thinking of you and hoping this depressing moment passes quickly and you get out and about asap.
thank you, really. it's tough. i always get sad when im down here. i think it's the memories i subconsciously think of. i always get sad and want to go home once its been more than a month. it's not my family but rather...the environment. or maybe it's also my family. long time ago when mum moved here she changed a lot and it shocked me a bit and it was a little hard to get used to. though i dont mind because it's her life, that period of time was tough because of how she acted and how much she'd stress me out. add that with the environment and the kind of people i was around (im from the city and the town people are a lil conservative) it just...it always felt like i didnt fit in and i wanted to be in a place that felt familiar.
plus, ive been living with either mum or dad in separate houses since i was 10 (theyre not divorced, just work issues) and now we're all finally living together but i guess im not used to it.
Hopefully things will get better super soon. My parents moved our family to the country when I was a teenager and I hated it. Thankfully we moved back to the city and we only lived there for a couple of years. I am a city girl so once I was a adult, I lived in a area that I was close enough to get out and about.
I am living in the city which I love however I am remarried, newly married. I am learning the city and learning my newlywed husband so I get lonely and bored sometimes. My husband works and sleeps a lot so I am trying to pass the time. My husband work schedule is all over the place so me working is very difficult. I have thought about volunteering and haven't had any luck finding a good fit. We have a doggy now so doggy keeps me busy. Sounds like we are trying to find our way. It is real nice to message with people online, yay 21st century technology
I am trying to find ways to keep busy and stop falling further into my anxiety and depression. Sometimes I feel good and then I feel all nervous, I hate it. My day is done, hubby is off to work. I need to take our dog out later and that is it. Hopefully something good on tv tonight. Tomorrow the visitor, fire inspection yay. Thank you for asking.
Ooo I get you. I had an episode an hour ago. Had to text someone and vent for a bit and have them calm me down.
I'm glad you have things to keep you busy. Keep at it ! ^_^ If you ever feel nervous over anything, feel free to message me. I'll listen and give advice where I can β€οΈ
Thank you, you too. Hey, I noticed if I eat spaghetti or lasagna, the sauce messes with my mood, always makes me have anxiety, weird and I love those dishes. I made lasagna and it tasted so good and yes, I started to feel anxious, ugh. I am starting to feel better, looks like the lasagna is wearing off lol
Hmm maybe you've convinced yourself bcs it happened coincidentally ? Usually if stuff like this happens I challenge my anxiety and do the exact thing just to make sure it knows I'm in charge ππ so it's good that you ate it.
I wonder why lasagna tho. And also. Damn y'know I haven't had lasagna since I was 10 ?? Mum never cooked it after that. Kind wanna have some now but it's 7am AHAHAHAHAHAH
I was testing to see if it would. I think its the sugar in the tomato sauce, I think. I have to watch how much sugar I eat. It definitely makes me moody
Ooo I see. Hey I have an idea ! Make your own sauce with fresh tomatoes. And instead of sugar. Buy this thing called xylitol. It's sweet just like it but 100% not sugar. It's what I use. I think that'll help a great deal.
Also apparently dark chocolate is really good to lift your mood too. It has endorphins that boost your mood. That'd be good for you.
Oooo damn. We're 12 hours apart AHAHAHHA. That could be a movie title. Like the new movie "five feet apart". Haven't watched it yet but it seems great. Maybe you can add it to your list of stuff to watch
That's cool, all of it. I will have to try the homemade tomato sauce. Have you seen a Star is born? I have it, I haven't watched it yet. Lady Gaga is staring in it. Have you been reading and replying to other posts? You would be good at it, you are cheering me up
AHAHAHHA yeah I always do~ it's how I feel better too. By helping others.
I HAVEN'TTT OMG. My friend said it was great but super sad and I had exams so I was like "nope ! I need all these tears to cry for my exams" AHAHAHHA. Maybe I'll see it later.
You really should. I hate readymade stuff honestly. You never know what they put inside and homemade always has a more fresh taste. Watching Gordon Ramsey pays off sometimes. What other kinds of foods do you usually cook ? Western and European mostly ?
I make grilled chicken, chicken enchiladas, beef stew, corn beef and cabbage, lots of homemade stuff. I like to go out sometimes except my cooking is pretty good vs the restaurants. I do have my favorite eats, cheeseburgers at Mojos#4 and Tostadas at Tiwuana flats. Filet mignon when its a special night out. How about you? Omg, I watched Bumblebee so cute movie, loved it
Ahahhaa I saw the trailer !!! Omg it looked so cute I wanted to watch but haven't gotten a chance. I will soon.
Ooo damn your food sounds tasty i feel hungry now T.T have you ever tried asian food ? I'm asian so that's mostly what I eat (south asian to be exact, not Chinese ahahahah I'm brown). We eat all sorts of spicy food like curry, biryani, tikkas. I LOVE sushi. I always have sushi and takoyaki when I'm feeling sad cause eating my fav food makes me happy.
Do you bake too ? I recently made a lemon cheesecake with lemon curd on top. Was pretty proud of that. It's was sour as hell but I loved it !!
Weight loss ^_^ carbs aren't necessary for me to eat. Well. The major ones at least. I can have vegetables with carb content. But no rice, pastas, lentils, etc. And no sugar. Technically I can't have sugar but carbs break down to glucose so no carbs at all as well
i mean i could but then the question is...with who ? my parents just made me come live with them recently. i was in a different country before. grew up there. parents moved two years ago and now i had to move here because i graduated and university starts in 5 months only. people around this area are old people, diplomats from other countries, people in their 30s with families, small kids, etc. nobody my age (aka 19) because they're all in the bigger city or overseas since for them uni started in january while mine starts in september.
my family is always busy and we dont go out much here. at least...there are certain places they just dont wanna go. and seeing ONLY my family for two months is already driving me insane
