can't say that i have been dealing with concussion issues, but i can relate to dealing with headaches and other things like that while trying to deal with depression & anxiety too. makes things even more difficult when not only do you not feel good physically, but mentally as well.
Exactly! I just commented on someone else’s post that you get stuck in this mental/physical cycle. It’s like nothing can calm down. Do you get chronic headaches?
yes! dealing with the anxiety and depression is hard enough, but then add on physically not feeling well just makes everything that much more difficult. i do get chronic headaches, taking meds for that.
I wonder if it’s all related for you? I’ve had a lot of physical problems over the years and doctors always told me it was everything mental manifesting physically.
I have my phone brightness almost all the way down lol.. I can’t stand my husband’s bc his is all the way up! I have prism glasses so hopefully they’re helping.
Yes! I was actually doing great with my anxiety and then slipped and fell down the stairs and nailed my head. Concussion went misdiagnosed and then i ended up dealing with post concussion symptoms and then got the flu and all kinds of other things. My anxiety has been through the roof. Best advice I can give is anytime you feel the headaches or dizziness to go lay down no phone no tv no activity. just go lay in a dark room. It was so depressing but it worked and they slowly started to fade. Also, tension headaches feel very similar so try getting a massage and massaging/ stretching the muscles in your neck everyday. It will get better I promise.
Hi Callie67, I can relate to you. I'm dealing with concussions symptoms too, 4 months. My life totally changed. I was working 4 to 6 hours a day but I had to stop. All my symptoms was hurting to much. I feel better when I'm not working or moving my head around. I have problems with driving. The more I focus my dizziness and headaches get worst. Anxiety and depression increases. What's helping me is concussion physical therapy 2x a week. Eye and head movements exercise. Deep muscle massage in neck, head, shoulders, upper back. I learned all those muscles are linked to our headaches. All I can say is resting/healing our brain is the best thing. Don't push too hard, even if things are getting better still take it easy. I learned the hard way. There are a lot of times you feel your going backwards and stuck at a stand still. But things do get better very very slowly. Be patient and compassionate to ourselves and always listen to our body. I hope this helps you. God bless.
Thank you. I definitely push myself as soon as I start feeling better. I didn’t take care of the concussion well enough when my car accident first happened. I kept working and trying to live normally. I got “better” but then all the symptoms came back with a vengeance. Quit my job so I’m kind of getting more rest this time around. It’s hard not watching tv or staying off my phone though. I’m sorry you have to deal with similar things, it can truly be awful. Have you noticed any improvements?
Hi calliee67, yes I did feel a little improvement with my headaches when starting my concussion therapy, but because I kept working less, 4 to 6 hours days and driving daily, I believe it made my symptoms worst now. So I had to stop working and driving now. I'm back to square one again, like you my symptoms came back with a vengeance too. It's hard too not too be on our smart phones, tv, reading. I'm sorry you had to quit your job. I'm worried about my situation with my job too. This time I'm thinking about health first, healing my brain first, resting is the most important thing. And whatever happens with my job position happens, I can't control that, what my boss decides too do. I just have to continue to rest my brain, avoid busy loud places, do my therapy, communicate with my work related DR. Walking, a little exerices in nature. Eat healthy, supplements. You can message whenever if need to talk. 😀
