I think I've tried about every one in the book (including Effexor). I've heard a few people say they had success with Lexapro. My doctor and psychiatrist also liked Cymbalta and Celexa. Above all else, my psychiatrist said the one thing that's been above and beyond helpful more than medications is CBT from a therapist if you can get in soon. I'm not a huge fan of the meds as they just haven't worked for me, but if you were doing well and suddenly aren't, your Effexor may have just ran its course and your body is tolerant of it. Some have that issue and have to switch around to get relief again....and eventually you can come back to Effexor if you did well on it.
I don't use anything, I could possibly do with something for my anxiety attacks, but anti depressants have always made me feel worse.
Celebrex doesn't do anything for me, but it would be the next step. I'm currently at max dose of Effexor (225mg) and it has been the only thing that's given any help. You might try upping your dose, and adding on Lamotrigine if that doesn't help enough.
I think I’ve tried it all over the years. Nothing has helped me except for abilify. Everything else gave me weird side effects. I tried celexa too but over the years it stopped working for me. You will find what works best for you. It does take a lot of time and can be frustrating. Good luck in your journey.
