Not well

I suffer from anxiety and depression. I have since I was a small child. I take medication to help but it doesn’t help that much. This year has been particularly bad. There are days that I can’t get out of bed. I work from home and thought I would get better but it seems to have made things worse. I feel so alone! I’m just reaching out for support.

Hi moonchild2019 and Welcome to our support group. Working from home is not

best for everyone. It takes discipline in following a strict schedule. There's too much

room for self doubts and ruminating thoughts to frequent. Being on medication is

only a support aid, it is not the answer. Being alone in your home is not allowing for

enough distraction and interacting with others. Instead it works against you in feeling

alone and somehow displaced. Is working from home something new this year or has

something else contributed to you feeling worse?

We are here to listen, to support and care. Talking with others on line may not only

give you some insight as to how others deal with working from home but also will

help you not feel so alone. The first thing you need to do is have a structured day.

Getting out of bed (not sleeping in) getting washed, dressed first thing. Putting in a

full work day will help with your self esteem and feeling accomplished. :) xx

Thank you for responding. Working from home is new. My whole office went remote in January.

Gotcha.... Your still in transition period then. It takes adjusting

but in time you will be able to conform to what a lot of people would

love to have. Good Luck moonchild. We are here for you. :) xx

Hello- Welcome to the forum.

I used to work in the office for many years but after I gave birth I decided to be a stay at home Mom. I used to be in my pajamas while doing my household chores but I noticed that it made me so sleepy and lazy most of the time. I had a talk with a friend who is also stay at home mom and she mentioned to me that she dressed up everyday like going to office. I decided to put on different clothes and it changed my behavior differently. Now, I wear casual clothing and flat shoes everyday while doing my chores inside the house and it helps me to feel better. I want to encourage you to try what I did, get up and dressed like you are going to office. I hope it will work for you.

Please stay in the forum, I hope you will feel encouraged and feel less lonely. Try also to join a support group that you can meet in person, it can help you not to feel alone. You are in my prayers. God bless.
